Your choice is not "sad" at all, musty. I have watched Love Actually three times, and each time it seems to get better.
It's definitely a feel good film, with some memorable performances.
I particularly like the segment where Colin Firth persues the girl, proposing to her in the restaurant where she was working, with her entire family were in attendance.
If you are into violent movies, then this one is not for you.
    If,on the other hand,you are a romantic fool,like me,then it's a must see.
    So,great choice,musty,and I give it 9 stars.

Just goes to show....music and film is very subjective.

I actually found District 9 off-beat and very very different. As much as I enjoy the Statham films, he plays himself and they're all basically the same. Good fun though. The first Transporter was better imo. The best film he was in was Lock Stock.

Any Jack Reacher fans out there? If so,what do you think of Tom Cruise being cast in the role of the 6'6" giant?

My preferences are the old Classics, such as,

    Casablanca.
    Double Indemnity.
    The Apartment.
    The Caine Mutiny.
    The African Queen.
    Angels with dirty faces.
    White Heat.
    12 Angry Men.
    Some like it hot.

There are many more, but that's a flavour of my preferences.

The African Queen, is a great film, your obviously a Bogart fan Vetch, great actor, how many marriages did he go through? troubled schooling ? but a great sailor! And fittingly a member of 'The Rat Pack', colourful career, for someone with such a religious backround!................... <cheers>

Bogart and Cagney are two of my heroes, from way back, when men were men,and women knew their place!!!
I should add Errol Flynn to the list. His Robin Hood is definitive.
I can only remember Bogart having two marriages. The first to a real harridan,Mayo Mehtot,or something like that. He eventually teamed up with Lauren Bacall, and they were together until his death.
He was pals with Sinatra, but I don't know how active he was in the Rat Pack. Sinatra was "entertaining" Bacall, with Bogarts blessing, when he eventually became bed ridden. Sad to think of the great man reduced to skin and bones, unable to walk,or do anything for himself. The dumb waiter was used to take him downstairs if he had guests.
At Bogarts funeral,John Huston, the great Director, said,"He is irreplaceable". He got that right.

Recently watched Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.......was hoping it would be brilliant but it massively failed to deliver, which was very disappointing. Had a good storyline but didnt keep me engaged...felt a bit bored in parts and it was all to easy to switch off given that the storyline flitted in between timelines quite rapidly. Half decent 5/10 for me.

Also recently caught I Am Number 4 and Crazy, Stupid, Love (not as much of a chick flick as i was lead to believe)......both very good films 9/10 for both

Woah, don't go blaming me lol.

Phil, Enemy of the state is an amzing film. Glad you put that as it reminds me to watch it again, 10/10. Behind enemy lines, 8/10.

But, by far the BEST movie EVER made is Saving Private Ryan. I love this film. It is closely followed by Band of Brothers, though this was a TV series.
