Lambert - 5 - was always a plan B (or C) not really played enough to rate. Writing was on the wall pre-season when he said that he needs a run of games to get his eye in. Perfect for the bench then!
Lallana - 5 - was he this injury prone before joining us?? Tricky player but hasn't really showed us much this season.
Lovren - 2 - whoever was responsible for forcing through this player purchase should have already cleared his desk out. Disaster zone.
Markovic - 5 - much slower than I thought he would be. He looks average. At best.
Moreno - 5 - bought for a team that swarms forward, played in a team with no movement for most of the season.....hard to judge.
Manquillo - 5 - looked ok but barely used as we preferred to use wingers as full backs and then wondered why we were getting attacked in those positions. Probably suffered most by the managers tactical twatishness.
Balotelli - 1 - just no. What a waste of natural talent. Laziest player I've ever seen. That includes my local pub team.
Emre Can - 7 - one of our best players even when played out of position. Have high hope for him.

1 out of 8. Not bad by BR's standards!

There is one caveat here though. Look at the list again and answer this; how many of the above players were used in their 'best' position for the majority of the season?? Lovren perhaps? BR is a tinkerman of epic proportions, perhaps our problems lay elsewhere!!!

 

It's not just the signings that have struggled - most of the whole team have regressed, bar Coutinho.

Manager needs to take more responsibility and use his resources more effectively.

 

Even Coutinho struggled early in the season.

We've only had two consistent performers this season. Jordan Henderson and Joe Allen. Our two battery players.

 

I can't really rate any of them other than Lovren. All of them are kids, played out of position, misused tactically, or barely used at all. Or some combination of multiple of those.

Lovren was crap other than a short lived decent run near the end.

 

You can rate Lallana, Lambert and Balotelli, they are not kids and were played in their right positions, even if they weren't used very well or fitted the clubs style to begin with.

 

Lambert barely used, but performed to expectation in his limited use - 6
Balotelli misused all season - N/A
On form Lallana 7, off form a 5, injured a lot so a bit frustrating as a signing - 5.9

 

Didn't see enough of Allen, and I thought Henderson was poor this season.

 

Henderson never reached his best capabilities. But he was consistent.

Allen is consistently reliable with out being spectacular.

 

Looking forward to seeing Hendo next year without Gerrard in effect tying him down.

No coincidence that Hendo was better and took on more responsibility without Gerrard alongside him. Although I hope someone tells him he can't take free kicks and corners.

Coutinho is braziliian, he should be a bloody natural free kick taker!

 

Moreno looks like he should bea free kick taker. Maybe I just miss Riise and Aurelio to much.

 

Being consistent is one thing. But being good and consistent is another.

I thought Henderson went hiding more often than not. Really disappointed in his bottling on the big stages and failing to take game by the scruff of the neck.

In his defence, he has been carrying Gerrard;s water plus he has played a lot of games. I think fatigue played a part. I'm hoping he can step up next season.

Interesting to read the comments about last summer's signings. Having said that perhaps another manager can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Mbia at QPR was a disaster, at Sevilla he is looking quite good.
