Hell of a goal record for a "holding mid come behind the strikers left wing playmaker". As Shergar said before, two of the greatest managers in the modern era (Fergie and Mourinho) rate him very highly. I think he'd prefer that to Eddie's "list of the best players in Europe".
http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...l-news/pep-guardiola-wayne-rooney-one-6933987 Pep Guardiola, another who rates Rooney. So the 3 best managers must all be wrong
He will not even be the best player at Barcelona for the next 3-4 years. He is without doubt a great talent, but he'll never get recognised for the top honours if he's playing in the same side as Messi. Neymar would do better in a team where he was the main man (well welcome him at Man Utd). This is why his international record is so good, as he's the top boy for Brazil, but for Barca he's just another cog in Messi's wheel. As is Suarez. See the likes of Henry, Ibrahimovich, and Villa for proof of this. 3 quality players who weren't good enough to step out from Messi's shadow
What does World Class mean? To me it means you would be in the starting lineup of 11 of the best players on the planet. I think Rooney is a fine player, i'd have him at Celtic in a heartbet but would he be in a first 11? Personally I don't think he would be. Not in mine anyway.
My World 11 right now would be: Gordon - Izaguirre, Van Dijk, Lustig, Matthews - Brown, Biton, - GMS, Armstrong, Messi - Griffiths
I would expand the definition to include those who would be in the squad should Earth enter a team in The Universe Cup.
She'd take it anyway that involves not having to look at Rooney's sweating, grimacing, straining face as he unleashes another load of ape goo deep inside her farter.
Not saying you did, but that was what the debate was about. Eddie seems to think Benzema is a far better player than Rooney, and is world class. I disagree
Benzema and Rooney are both overrated fannies. Eddie reckons Diego Costa is the best striker in the world and that Leverkusen were a lock for the CL. So obviously he kens **** aw about fitba n' that.
It means playing in the English Premier League ... you cant be world class if you haven't played in EPL. Ronaldo - World Class Messi - Not Ibrahimovic - Not Rooney - World Class Beckham - World Class Gerard - World Class Zidane - Not Robben - World Class Xavi - Not
Used to name world XIs all the time but can't now, not interested enough in the game these days. Here's my best XI from what I know -----------------Courtois Lahm-----Hummels----Godin----Alba -------------Toure----Pirlo Ronaldo--------Messi---------Bale -------------------Suarez
There aren't any good defenders about these days. Used to be able to name Nesta and Maldini and stuff
