In terms of who will have the biggest impact this year I think will rank like this. There'll be a big gap between the top 4 and the rest though. The top 4 will be 1st team players, the rest will probably be squad players.

Can't, they haven't played a proper game yet.

The obvious most likely, will do what we expect but if Lambert heads in the league winning goal his sixth, after coming on in his 9th game 70 minutes in? (Wums it's an example) I'd say he's bloody number one in my book.

Bit of a strange question as Lallana, Lovren and Lambert are not up and coming players with lots of potential - they are full blown first teamers and internationals.

I'll rank mine on potential impact for us this season:

Interesting that people aren't giving Lambert a sniff just because his pre-season wasn't great.

He's done a lot of very good stuff for Saints in the last few years and that doesn't just disappear, plus the notion that he's only good for lumping balls too is clearly from somebody who has never watched him play.

People not fancing Lallana either. We'll see!

 

We haven't signed Moreno yet.

 

True, but near enough. I really can't see what could go wrong #medical!

But assuming we do sign him.... my list is, for this year as I believe Markovic and Origi will become great signings in a few seasons time.

I was very tempted to put Markovic further up the list, but I think this season will be his PL learning curve and he'll excell next season. Potentially he could be our number one sigining when we look back in a few years time.

 

You say on potential and value so why is Origi bottom for every one?

As it stands Manquillo is only on loan so he goes bottom. Origi could because a star with his whole career ahead. Same for Markovic, Moreno and Can.

Lovren is the exact signing we needed the most.

Lallana is a very good signing still.

 

Origi, 1 app, 1 goal - 100% goal to game ratio for 2014/15

I'll give em mark out of ten

On potential and value.

1) Lovren - 7/10 and rising.
2) Moreno - unknown. Potential is there, is there value? 6/10
3) Markovic - exactly as above
4) Lallana - 5/10 just too expensive for a bench warmer potentially
5) Origi - hmmm potential, glimpsed at wc, in lesser league right now 6/10 with potential
6) Can - 8/10 great value, looks perfect for our systems
7) Manquillo - as a deal? 8/10 could be very very cheap bargain, could be average and then we send home
8) Lambert 4/10... Those points are for the 3 cup games we will use him in aka Pelham and such, far far too slow and immobile

 

I'll wait till I see them!

 

I think the defensive acquisturas of Lovo, Moro and Mango will serve us better than the midfield signaturas of Cano, Lallo and Mico.

Lovren - 9/10 Strong, composed and Vocal. Fantastic passing as well. Most important addition imo.
Balotelli - 9.5/10 or 4.5/10 only time will tell
Origi - 9/10 Has all the attributes to be a top class forward. Very excited about his potential.
Can - 8/10 Big strong lad, good value for money.
Manquillo - 7.5/10 Pace, stamina and strong defensively. Needs to work on his crossing though.

Moreno - 7/10 good going forward, poor defensively.
Markovic - 7/10 Huge price for someone still Incredibly raw, needs to work hard on his first touch. But seems to seems have that strong, fighting mentality BR craves for.

Lallana - Silky player and a good engine, limited passing range though. Now that Mario is here, think BR might switch back to the diamond formation(not a big fan of it), so he'd likely start more often. But would've rather Suso given the chance than spend 23mil on him.

Lambert - 5/10 for the money we paid, not going to expect too much. He's a decent player and will be of use.
