Can I return to the original point by Ciaran. Can any Sevco, or indeed Celtic fan name any club in Europe who have felt it necessary to deny telling any of their players, not to make the sign of cross. Of course We know the well known, new club from Govan recently denied telling one of their players. Imagine how such bigotry can still exist in the twenty first century. It appears that a club can die, be liquidated but still maintain its racists and sectarian history belonging to the Club that died and this new co replaced.
Not 2 months ago Zenit fans made a statement about not wanting black players at their club. I think you should pick a harder point to prove next time.
He also conveniently ignores the fact that his own club had a publicly stated sectarian signing policy. Jock Stein admitted to the media that if he had a catholic traialist and a protestant trialist he'd always select the protestant player as he believed he'd be depriving rangers of 2 players.
Boys you cannot be serious, first this is not a black v white issue. This is your club Feeling necessary in the twenty first century to deny it told a player not to be seen by their supporters making the sign of the cross. Now this is beyond belief that some Of you are trying to deflect from this. Nobody is saying zenit is correct, and if I was posting on a zenit forum I would point that out. But I am posting on the forum of Scotland's newest club and I thought Scotland was and is a Christian Country. Surely that attitude cannot be Christian. Bringing Jock Stein into this shows a crass misunderstanding of the situation. I think even the stupidest Sevco fan knows Jock , a Protestant manager of a club Known from the outset to sign players on ability, not school or Religion was having A little joke with the press at Rangers expense. The press that were present all Laughed and treated it as a joke. Which of course Rangers were because of their non Catholic rules, it seems Sevco are afraid the fans are still belonging to the dark ages. Boys you would be doing Sevco and Scottish football a favour if you started a campaign For freedom of expression at least for all Christian believers at your club.
As I have already stated, I don't want catholics playing for my club and if they do play for us, the least the ****s can do is not remind us that they are ****ing catholics.
Trevor give up the habit of a lifetime as pride comes before a fall an so unless you wish to tempt faith Old dead club could be stripped of about half a dozen titles because of cheating.
I don't think there's any doubt that a large section of the Rangers support are religious supremacists/bigots. But there's also a very large section (perhaps a majority) who are good, decent, honest blokes who are just passionate about their Club. My question is this: Why the fu*k would any player want to go around blessing himself anyway? Can't they keep their religious beliefs private? It is their place of work after all. We have a player who scored a goal recently (I know, shock horror!) and ripped of his shirt exposing a message that said "Allah is great". Apart from anything else it was incredibly arrogant of him to do that in front of what would be almost exclusively a Christian/atheist/secular British crowd. Yes it just means God is great but its an overtly Muslim saying. Can you imagine a British player playing for Galatasary or another Club in a Muslim Country wearing a T-shirt saying "Jesus is God" or "there is no God, relax"? He'd be strung up from the nearest lamppost. Gazza playing the flute and Boruc purposely blessing himself in front of the Rangers fans was a bit of a wind up is all. But these supposedly pious c*nts (on six figure salaries) kneeling down so that tens of thousands of people will see them praying is stomach churning. They should ban every prick of a player that does sh*t like that.
Wise up S H. Players all over the Christian world Bless themselves whilst going on tp field , or/and after scoring and you a stupid fool from Dublin takes it on to himself Inform these footballers of world wide fame how to behave yourself. You also make a comment of a dead club's support. How would that be relevant. Have you attended many of Sevco's games recently. If not keep your ignorant comments about their support to yourself.
Are you havin' a laugh here mate? World wide fame? Who gives a toss how famous they are. They should conduct themselves in a professional manner, famous or not. They can go to Church/Synagogue/Mosque/Hippy Van all they want in their own time. Just leave religion out of football. Is that too much to ask? Don't mind "dead Club", you know who I was talking about. And no, I've never set foot in either of your Grounds. Maybe you know more than I. Maybe they are all a bunch of blood lusting savages wanting nothing more than to wade up to their waists in Fenian blood. Maybe but not likely. I refuse to believe they're all like that mate.
Exactly - if you want to make out you;re better than anyone else by flaunting your faith then you shouldn't moan when you're held up to ridicule. If i want to pray i go to church or I do it in private. I don't subscribe to the victim mentality of celtic fans that some Rangers fans like to cite but I have to say superhooper and 1 or 2 others don't do a very good job of dispelling it.......
A fine specimen such as Dailly? Wouldn't surprise me. There is very few footballers I would have doubts over fighting and hes one of them.
