I assume you'd be perfectly happy if it happened to Sunderland then?

Makes you sound like a NIMBY Cest.

I think without the Old Firm derbies the SPL loses INTERNATIONAL interest but within Scotland, genuine football fans will always follow and without as much of a strangehold (TV deal will be renegotiated, no way would they get away with giving Celtic 90% or something like that) you'll see a greater turnout for the non-OF matches.

Do you think an Aberdeen fan is bothered if people in the USA stop watching the Old Firm derby? Nah. Slightly reduced income but a fairer league, genuine football fans will be happy, glory hunters will be crying themselves to sleep.

I for one am more interested in Scottish football now, I know Celtic will win the league but I cannot say for definite who will be grabbing that second CL spot which is a prize well worth fighting for! <ok>

There is a lot being said that it is not fair that the fans are being punished but it is not their fault. Have to disagree with that - all fans, including us, are always banging on to the board or to the owner to get their hands in their pockets and shell out for the next big name. The phone ins are packed full of Gooners berating the fact that their club is concentrating on being solvent rather than breaking the bank in search of glory.

We can't have it both ways if a club, any club, bankrupts itself in the search of glory, it and its fans deserves what is coming to it. As fans we should take a greater concern about what is happening within our clubs and be more accepting of the what financial limitations we may have.

No other business would be given carte blanche to arbitarily walk away from massive debts and start again untouched.

To be fair to the Rangers fans they are largely taking their punishment with dignity and class so good luck to them and I look forward to seeing them at Berwick next season.

So did you spare a thought for the Swindon fans when we went up in their place?

Imagine how **** that was for them.

Billy - don't disagree. For obvious reasons it took me a while but I did feel for the Swindon fans eventually, nevertheless it was right that the club was punished. I've worked in Leeds for a long time and my missus is a Leeds girl yet I still feel that given the Swindon experience Leeds got off pretty lightly and I have no sympathy for the club. My Leeds fans mates took it on the chin and all now say that given what they have been through a well run club is something that they are wanting most (bit tricky with Ken Bates as the owner!!) - none of them are banging on about making multi-million pound signings as they have all seen first hand the consequences of it going wrong.

Of course I wouldnt, but whats the point of this line of question? I'm a Sunderland fan not a Rangers fan and I have never understood this "who is your favourite Scottish team" bollocks either.

If Rangers go out of business forever, or Celtic for that matter to keep all the daft lads happy, then I couldnt give a rats arse to be honest. It wouldnt effect my support of SAFC or the future of SAFC for that matter.

I just dont get why anyone outside of Glasgow or the Scottish mainland gives a ****. I really dont.

I didnt give Swindon fans a second thought tbh. It wasnt my fault that their club broke laws and were robbed of a place at the top table and if they had got away with it they wouldnt have given a flying **** about us either. No-one gave a **** about us being relegated when Coventry and that cheating **** Jimmy Hill swindled us along with Bristol City all those years ago? It's dog eat dog I'm afraid in a dog eat dog world.

As for the ones who got away as you put it, anyone thick enough to bring them into thier club in future deserve all they get. End of.

If Scottish football ended completely tomorrow it wouldnt effect SAFC in the EPL one single bit. We dont rely on Scottish football in 2012 for anything at all. Not one thing.

Thats the price you pay for mismanagement. They rightly have to suck it and work to get their reputation back.

I care about all clubs, I hate seeing clubs go to the wall.

Weather you give a **** or not is immaterial Cest, every club has die hards.

Chester City went tits up for the want of 100 grand.

Sometimes I despair at the nonchalant attitudes of some folk.

And I have family ties up there ya jumped up nice man.

Billy you may well have family and ties but then that's not all of us.

Don't expect us all to give a ****e about a bankrupt club in a non entity of a league in a country that doesn't even want to be part of us?

I totally don't care about Chester City either or Darling ton because the people there don't give a **** and don't even turn up to support them. Why should i put my hand in my pocket to help them out when the locals don't care enough to start with?

You gripe should be with the owners and former owners of Rangers if you care that much, not with Sunderland fans 160 miles away in England?
