I'm wondering, from Celtic's point of view how bad can it get for their players?

Essentially there is an almost non-existent challenge for their players now, it is almost literally a walk in the park. The only excitement in the SPL from a totally ignorant point of view is the Celtic v Rangers "who this year" debate. I'm sorry but if I'm playing for Celtic I'm looking for the exit because that's just plain dull.

    It's another fair point.

Facts are that higher Championship & all Premier clubs can outpay Celtic, so without the sporting challenge, you have to wonder, despite the significance of Celtic as a club.

Hopefully Izaguirre realizes he belongs on Wearside as a result.

The owner's are to blame for the situation Ranger's are/were in. Those still connected to the club were apparently happy to (restart) begin in Div 3 so why have all the hassle for weeks just to put them in the bottom tier when it
could have easily been sorted out as soon as admin was put in place.

Thats a bit of a dis-service to ****e teams. Aberdeen are appauling. Got some decent youngsters coming through the ranks but cant see them putting a run into 3rd.

Motherwell, Hearts and then one of the Cally Jags if they can pull themselves together or Dundee Utd

Sad for the fans but had to be done.

What angers me more is the likes of the Italian betting scandals.
**** me, if you can't watch a game of football with both teams trying to win, what's the point?

It's even sadder when businesses go to the wall through either fraud or mismanagement.
The last thought anyone ever gives is to the innocent employees who have lost their jobs.

Another problem for the Scottish game will be TV income.
I mean, who is going to pay to watch a one horse race?

The TV money was shared so unfairly with the top 2 favoured massively over the rest of the clubs that the loss in revenue for the non-OF clubs won't be as severe as some suggest.

Don't worry. The SPL will go on without Rangers. The 'you'll go bust without us' was scaremongering to get Rangers newco voted into the SPL.

There may be some downsizing but arguably the club most effected will be Celtic. This is a great opportunity for other clubs to step up and make Scottish football a bit more even (like it used to be).

Believe it or not, before the Old Firm monopoly, other clubs won stuff too and had big attendances. I hope that Scottish fans may see this as the chance it is for their club to compete more strongly for silverwear and for apathetic fans to return.

The SPL will survive and may even be better for it, especially if reform is brought in and the league is expanded. Get rid of the split, have 16 clubs playing eachother home and away with a winter break and I think things'll be a lot more interesting <ok>

The myth of the big two in Scotland joining the Premiership seems even more distant now...

pity they couldn't be demoted any lower, in 3 years they'll be back fighting for the spl title, unlike portsmouth who look destined to fold, west ham should have suffered the same fate a few years back

As a Rangers fan, I like 90% of them am pleased with the outcome.
No one can use it as an excuse to beat the club with now.

I have read the posts on here with interest. Some I agree with, others I don't.
Some I understand but find a little misguided.

Of course crimes were committed & must be punished.
The ironic thing is though, the guilty have got off scot free.

David Murray, Craig Whyte & the rest of their cohorts did the dirty deeds.
Does anyone think they have been punished?
They will still keep their millions, Bently's & mega mansions.
They should be bloody well asset stripped & the proceeds go to the Inland Revenue but they wont.
They wont even have to go to court over their crimes.

Once again, it's the fans that suffer but as somebody has already pointed out, no one gives a **** about them.

Scottish football has shot itself in the foot & will die on it's arse now.
Eight of the SPL clubs are financially on the brink.
Sky TV will at best renegotiate the deal meaning even less than the pittance they already get or at worst, pull out altogether.

No Old Firm games for the next three years at least.
Scottish football will limp on but some clubs will go to the wall, of that I am certain.
One step forward, two steps back.

And, by the way, this can still be overidden by the SFA so it aint all over yet.

I give a **** as Rangers are as much in my blood as Sunderland are.
The rest have been making money off both for donkey's years.
They will reap what they've sown.

Mark my words, clubs will go to the wall over this.
