Not strictly true, the official flag in Northern Ireland is the Union Flag, it just isn't exclusive to Northern Ireland.

Doubt it, think the Red Hand of Ulster didn't become official in the 70s when we scrapped their parliament. Not 100% sure. It would be great if the St. Andrew's Cross wasn't an official flag of Scotland though, that would really annoy wee Nippy and Aldo.
