But they're not. They're a combo of Pens and the way you play which floods a lot down the RW. Tav isn't doing anything from the attacking FB position that NP wouldn't do himself. Your gameplay favours that role and NP can do it every bit as much as Tav. swapping the two won't lead to less goals/assists, it just changes the name of who provides them.

Do you seriously think, the way you and NP plays that the goals/assists would drop so dramatically? He proved it again tonight. He will do the same. What Rangers are doing though is allowing Prem teams to come to the table for a back up right back with 10 games and potential instead of a first choice RB providing numbers and essentially costing yourself millions so you can stick with playing your 5/6th best player who won't earn a move and therefor you money.

In 2015, Barca won La Liga and CL. In those 2 comps, Iniesta provided "numbers" of 0 goals and 0 assists despite being one of the best attacking players in the history of the game playing in one of the best sides ever. Numbers mean **** all without context. French Eddie was winning golden boots when Celtic were at their lowest and losing 10IAR...Morelos was being outscored by Defoe...Alfie was still the best forward in the league. Stop reading football as a spreadsheet and watch it.

I also didn't say he was better, i said it was better for Rangers to play him over Tav based on everything.

 

imo winning the league this year is our number 1 priority. Tav playing every week is imperative to achieving this goal.

Why is he imperative? He's a captain who literally spoke in your programme about how league games scared the players. he gets great numbers based on your play more than his ability. Rangers would win as many games with ~NP~ and wouldn't lose millions they desperately need by playing him. Tav isn't peak Gerrard winning games on his own, he's an above average Scottish footballer benefiting from a system that suits him. Celtic got £11m for Frimpong FFS and Tav got bids of £2.5m from West Brom. You're leaving millions on the table you badly need for nothing.

Tav is one of our best players if not the best (this season anyway) Patterson is a great wee player with a lot of potential.

Let’s just agree these are facts

 

Your best players, and most sellable assets are Kent, Kamara, Aribo, Hellander, Alfie, Hagi and if played Patterson (right to the front). Tav isn't anywhere near that list.

How can you possibly ignore Tav's numbers. He has constantly been top of the assists charts over several seasons. He was the highest rated Scottish based player in the Europa league the last two seasons. He is essential to how Rangers play with his delivery into the box from the right. Barasic, who has been pretty terrible this season, is the same on the left.

Patterson doesn't have that in him just yet. He's an exciting prospect and he will be a Rangers great if he stays but right now he is back up for Tav and rightly so. That's not to say we shouldn't try and give him more game time though but ultimately, Tav is the man.

Rangers will have a valuation of Patterson. It makes no odds on how many minutes he has played. If a club comes in and offers that valuation and the player is happy with the move then we will sell, of course we will. Patterson is an academy player so what ever we get for him will be 95% profit. We can't lose. Same goes for Kamara and Aribo who cost us buttons.
