If you can look at Eddie Howe and what he's achieved in the game and think he's a good fit for Celtic, then standards really have fallen off a cliff.

We took a chance on Gerrard, but he still came with a big reputation in the game and commands immediate respect. If Howe is lucky then he might have a career similar to Sam Allardyce or Steve Bruce, and keep getting jobs at middle of the road Premier League teams without ever achieving much.
