Discworld is the name given to cover Flat Earth theories - I believe they prefer Parallaxian themselves (those who profess it).

This isnae my first flat Earth rodeo.

Although, you do know that the notion of Parallaxian theory was advanced by a masonic writer originally.

I realise you don't change folk's minds easily - I'm just interested in why people are so keen to believe it and what the motivation is for believing in a flat Earth.

I don't get the assumption someone lied about the shape of the Earth as a means of control.

All conspiracies require a notion of control or power to even be viable - lying about the shape of the Earth just doesn't make sense to me..

If it isn't a ball (a spheroid with one face), it would have an edge - doesn't need to be flat, a dodecahedron while almost a sphere, would have loads of edges. Why has no-one seen or recorded an edge anywhere?

 

You said you didn't think it was a globe but you didn't believe it was flat either.

For there to be no gravity, it would have to be flat or balls wouldn't bounce - either that or some sort of massive magnetic type force (some might call that gravity) would have to be pulling you towards a point.

Tesla didn't believe the Earth was flat. Full stop.

Tesla's theory of wireless transmission of energy requires the Earth to be a globe.

He designed towers to circumvent the Earth's curves to bounce signals in the exact same way that satellites work (the ones that don't exist).
