    Who are Rangers going to get that would make any difference?

    Gerrard? He would sell season tickets and XXXXL tops (a cynic might suggest that's the real reason King wants him) but what's he going to do? He might attract a few decent Bosmans/loanees but he's not going to sign anyone of real quality.

    "He's a big name. He'll attract big players". Erm, no. Big players earn big money and Rangers ain't got any.

    McInnes turned them down because he couldn't get the assurances over spending and apparently Clarke turned them down for the same reason.

    Hard to see where Rangers go from here. Sign Gerrard and it'll be a circus and will most likely end in tears with Rangers needing to appoint another manager before the season's out. Alternatively, sign an experienced manager from a (supposedly) smaller team and learn to accept the fact that you're going to be 2nd best to Celtic for a number of years to come.

    Pragmatism versus Hubris. One suspects hubris will win out. It always does with Rangers.

    I agree with you,would be a mad appointment for both parties though I've never heard of your last 3 managers so big name to create a buzz around the place and all you'd need then is a decent team.
