The problem with that is your whole analysis is all based on Beaton giving the imaginary “first foul”, IF the SFA come out and say they made an arse of it then Beaton has confirmed he gave the foul for the shirt pull.

Also worth noting that Alan Muir and Francis “Up the Ra” Connor have both been dropped from this weekends fixtures so make of that what you will. Apparently the SFA have 2 dedicated var refs in Andrew Dallas and Greg Aitken, why are neither of them involved in a cup final?

Beaton gives a foul, first or second, let's Schrodinger it for this moment.

Whatever Beaton saw VAR saw the first foul and see no reason to interject as a foul was committed outside of the box and a free kick was taken from there.

Schrodingers cat is most definitely dead at this point, much like any argument that still thinks this phase of play shouldn’t result in a penalty.

The only way it's a penalty is if the tackle wasn't a foul.

VAR must have thought it was or believed that's what was given, taking it out of their hands.

The Scottish FA have accepted Rangers were denied an extra-time penalty kick in Sunday's Premier Sports Cup final defeat against Celtic. (Scotsman)

You do know they are all able to communicate during a match? They don’t need to have assumed or believed what Beaton gave, they could actually just ask him.

Seconds after the foul was given, tv pictures can show us that at one point in the phase of play Cerny has his foot on the box. Surely when its so close to the box its worth taking the time and checking? We know from the past var has no issues getting involved and holding up play to go back 5 minutes in the build up to disallow goals, but this time they didn’t fancy it

As you say, they look back at incidents and I'd suggest VAR judged the tackle to be a foul.

If Beaton thought the pull was a foul outside the box and not the tackle VAR aren't having an argument over a freekick taken from roughly the same position.

Tbh if a pen was awarded then pulled back for the tackle it'd been much funnier.

You need to forget about the tackle being a foul, this was just a totally made up theory by celtic mouth pieces to muddy the waters even further.

From all the refs involved in the cup final Alan Muir and Francis Connor are the only 2 not involved in this weekends fixtures, to most people it looks like some form of reprimand, a demotion of some kind for some shoddy work, a show of acknowledgement for mistakes made, or maybe its just a total coincidence? Aye a coincidence is the most likely reason

If that was the case we would have had no refs left during Celtic's “everyone is against us” phase, they would all have been sat at home being kept safe. Actually, did some refs no end up with a few smashed windows?

This weekend there was plenty of options, could have sent them up to Aberdeen or Dingwall away out the road, but instead they have been totally dropped.

Muir and Connor will get to have a couple of weeks off until the dust settles a bit then they'll be back for the new year game at Ibrox to cheat for their team once again.

The only real solution is death threats and window smashing.

    The Celtic way.
