It happens in every game, 2 players go up for the ball and theres a clash of heads, sometimes one will come off worse than the other. Usually it results in play being stopped for treatment then restarted with a drop ball.

 

Starting to feel a bit sorry for Johnston and being on the receiving end of headbutts, remember when Sima headbutted his elbow and then had to go off injured

 

You're right that normally does happen.

But the Hibs defender didn't go up for the ball in the end, he shat it and nutted AJ, who actually made contact with the ball, instead, creating a reckless foul.

To be fair, the one that landed Danilo with a 6 week spell on the sidelines after a St Johnstone DF smashed his face in, should've been a red card imo as it was late and reckless.

I have no issues with that type of challenge being deemed a foul, but as a football aficionado, I've never seen a clash of heads given as a foul in all my years, though, I am only in my late 20s

I think wee souls like you would feel safer if we just make football a non contact sport.

Thats the way its going anyway, a slight bit of contact is a foul. Can’t even slide tackle anymore cos you can win the ball and still give away a foul. In the 90s you could take the ball and the man and it was called great defending, now its called reckless and a red card.
