Just watching highlights on sky. Links to Sunderland Dick Advocat, Martin O'Neill, Flo, Reyna. They both had very good teams back in the day. Absolute ****e now.

Scottish football has been in decline for a long time, now. It tells you everything when players like Anthony Stokes have been top players in that league.

If Rangers and Celtic are to ever be a force again then they need to be in the English leagues. I can't see that happening, though.

You're right, if The Old Firm teams were to ever be welcomed into the English football pyramid, where would they be placed? How would it affect both the Scottish and English game?

Scotland would more than likely be likened to the Welsh leagues, after Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham and Newport play in English leagues.

Its bad for football overall that the Scottish league has been weakened to the extent that it has. It wasn't that long ago that you could expect Scottish clubs to have a decent run in European competition. In the late 80s/early 90s, half the England team played for Rangers.
We need more leagues to be stronger to make European competition healthier. I've just been reading about the Yugoslavian league. Before Yugoslavia broke up, they had a decent shout for being one of the top five leagues in Europe with four massive clubs in Red Star, Partizan Belgrade, Dinamo Zagreb, and Hajduk Split with others like FK Sarajevo and one or two more capable of challenging them. European football would be so much more interesting if we had stronger leagues across the board.

Gazza, Laudrup, Larsson, Hendry, etc Al were amazing in the mid 90s. Go back 5ys from 2000 but that's just my age. Don't play the flute though <doh>
