Kinda makes one wonder why HMRC didn't accept the CVA.

Aye, Rangers won it - I was wrong earlier, there. 2-1

Page 58 (being quoted on Twitter) and paragraph 232 appear to confirm that dual contracts were deliberately hidden. I don't know if the SPL will use this, though.

HMRC are meant to be considering an appeal <doh>

Souness, Dodds et al must be sweating it, man <laugh>

Haha check out timmy trying to fight it and find a negative angle.

Jiffy "bu bu bu bu but..."

I like this bit, "This has been an exceptionally long, difficult and expensive process involving not just the Tax Tribunal but also significant efforts to resolve the matter with senior HMRC officials on a commercially sensible basis for all parties. We will therefore review the detailed content of the decision with our advisers and legal counsel to ascertain what action, if any, is now required by MIH.

"While MIH has at all times respected the privacy of the Tax Tribunal proceedings, a substantial quantity of confidential information relating to the case has become available for public consumption stimulating considerable discussion and often ill-informed debate. This has been wholly inappropriate and outwith the fundamental principles of natural justice."

    They thought they would win?

Anyway, are they going to appeal the appeal? Just when you thought it couldn't get more tedious ...

No, we were liquidated because Craig Whyte forgot to pay the paye the silly sausage.

Something I've said all along and got into many debates with Dev etc about although I suspect I'll still be wrong!

You shouldn't believe everything you read on the Internet!

No that's an impression of you struggling to think of a comeback ya clown. I'm still waiting for this proof of my claims to be rich etc

The last year has actually been cracking! Unlike some people, football doesn't rule my life. You could say, I'm not obsessed by it!

You were liquidated because HMRC refused your CVA. Now was that because of a few million quid of PAYE or however many tens of millions of "big tax case" liability?

In the absence of the BTC would you have been liquidated? Definitely not?

    <laugh> A comeback to what?

Hmm football doesn't rule your life, but chasing proof of a comment you made on the internet seems pretty important... <ok>

If they win, they stop other companies doing the same and can prosecute the individuals behind the scheme.

As I understand from what I've read the ruling states that the money paid to players in an EBT is a loan and is not liable to income tax (which is what has been said by Rangers all along).

The only way HMRC can go after anybody is to appeal the ruling and win.
