If this happens can someone be so kind to turn off the light before they go home? We might as well pack it in! Furious doesn't come close to explain my feelings. There is so much talent out there, why do we always give wasters the money when they could be spent so much better? We're talking about a player who was with us for a short loan spell over TEN years ago! In that time all he's managed is 54 goals in 263 games!!! 1 goal in every 5 games for a striker, FFS! And he's in fine form too, playing for a very good and attacking Derby side he managed 0/nil/zero goals in 20 games last season. What's not to like? Hurry up and get him signed before someone else steal him away from us.
Would rather play Blackwood or RGC and get them valuable experience. They will score as many goals as him, surely, given a run in the side?
Definitely, without a shadow of a doubt. Typical short-termism way of thinking, defining of clubs going nowhere. Edit: The "Typical short-termism way of thinking, defining of clubs going nowhere." sentence was aimed at the club if they sign players like Best. Not at you Stan, just read it again and realised it could have been misinterpreted.
6 goals since 2012 says it all Dave McIntyre from West London Sport put the cat amongst the pigeons when his headline was we are 'considering' signing him. He did backtrack a little by then saying we are only letting him train with us - but I do think that the whole episode smacks a little of click bait. I really respect DM for his work and contribution to covering the Rs I don't think that sort of headline is terribly helpful, especially given the trepidation with which the fan base are feeling at the prospect of losing 2/3 senior players and the effect this will have on our season's prospects. Hopefully it is all a storm in a teacup, but the fact that OneSize is Best's agent (and seems to have a good relationship with the top brass) does add a little credence to my fears. I suppose the biggest fear is that we go too far towards developing the Rangers old boys network and start doing favours for people instead of making decisions purely for footballing reasons.
Neither Polter nor JET had awe-inspiring records before we signed them but I thought they had showed enough to be worth a punt, particularly if we are looking to flesh out the squad and want to be financially prudent. But Leon Best is most definitely NOT worth a punt and I'd be both flabbergasted and annoyed if we signed him.
