    Blackpool have signed Kevin Phillips, so he could do a lot worse than learn off him. Could be interesting to see if/how he does develop.

    Phillips will get fed up of him man, the guy has a serious attitude problem, that's a big reason why we're getting rid of him.

    He's just not a natural footballer...i cringe each time i see him get the ball! He reminds me of Carlton Palmer on the ball! Shooting is poor, attitude poor! Good Riddance!

    i would have liked him to get a bit of a run in the side and get a two yard tap in or a bounce of his knee, to see if he improved. But he has numerous chances to get a goal and failed. He kept his worst performances for when he started games and his best for 15min cameos.

    Sorry, but the lad couldn't hit a barn door with a spade.............not that I'd love to be proved wrong but get rid and get more proven scorers.

    As for Shola/Best/loverman..............let's be honest, leave one as a pool striker.................they've all shown that producing the goods in the Championship a million miles away from EPL.

    If this actually comes off i'll be a bit gutted. I've always been a fan of his and think his situation is similar to Best, who i DO think is decent too.

    Ranger had a fantastic record in our younger teams and reserves, but i think his confidence has been hit by a couple of misses early on in his sub appearances for the main team. He just lacks that one goal that could give him the confidence boost.
    He's a strong lad and fast. I think hed be a great player if he was given time and think this could be another case of us selling someone on who'll end up coming back to haunt us. I'd have much preferred to loan him out for a full season of regular football and then sell him if that does nothing to change him.

    See what offer comes in for him i guess though.

    I think we'll regret this one long term. I know from previous threads that many don't rate him because of his attitude and his shocking shooting. But he was work in progress for me and was showing signs of growing up. I think the whole gangster picture thing got blown out of all proportion. If someone handed me a gun, I'd probably have done something similar just for the crack. The club seems to want a clean cut image and wants rid of any that hinder it. (Barton, Ranger. Also Best and Ireland after their little snap) Nothing wrong with that but in the case of younger players, you have to accept the rough with the smooth and give them time. Bobby always had great patience with young players.

    I just look at games like Chelski and think there is something to work with there. He's quick for a big lad, puts himself about and is an excellent impact player at this stage. Like most tall strikers he is taking a little longer to find his feet in the professional game. Crouch was useless till he was about 23. Bounced round from one club to the next. Another one bites the dust.

    The thing that has me baffled is how Shola and Lover seem immune yet are utter tripe. I'm not a massive fan of Best as I think he is limited but he definetly showed more than Lover or Shoboat. He must be wondering how it all works.

    We have 5 forwards, BUT:

    1. Ba is potentially crocked
    2. Best is still unproven and may still be sold
    3. Lover is good but not good enough to be our main striker
    4. Shola is ****e
    5. Ranger is useless

    So we have 5 strikers, but could end up with 0 decent ones.

    If the problem was his development, then a loan would have been the best optuion.

    The problem, though, is he is a t**t. He was obviously one once too often. If so, telling him that the club was unprpeared to put up with his attitude was the right decision.
