QPR’s Dembele faces long spell out with ACL injury

By West London Sport 07/02/2026

QPR winger Karamoko Dembele faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a long-term knee injury.

Dembele, 22, was helped off the pitch midway through the first half of the recent win against Coventry.

And scans have confirmed that he has suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage. The injury will require surgery.

He will therefore miss the rest of the campaign and potentially the start of next season.

Dembele has made 51 Championship appearances since arriving from French club Brest, initially on loan, in 2024.

Pants. I suppose this is why we have 38 wide players, at least 1.5 of whom aren’t injured.

Didn't hear about this previously

The case against QPR has always seemed extremely poor unless there’s a lot more to it.

£11.1m? Yeah mate I’m sure you were all set for a decade on a million quid a year until your second failed loan at Crawley.

Comparable to Eze & Chair? I'm sure many young players have potential that is never fulfilled but if they're that thin skinned they were in the wrong profession anyway...
This is a poor attitude, I have to say.

You're very quick to talk about a young minority person being thin skinned without knowing the full extent of the evidence being presented and claims being made.

And you talk as if the young kid is the problem, not the footballing industry and its culture?

There are clearly some dinosaurs still out there like Yems, who is paying the price, but the guy wasn’t a child. Maybe he does have a great case and was treated horrifically by QPR but from what we know it looks like he’s taking a punt on getting something out of the club to me having not quite cut it as a professional footballer. Claiming an encouraging text to a young player is evidence he was set for a long Championship/Prem career sounds a bit silly frankly.

Yems was called out and rightly dealt with by the FA. The fact Amrit is now playing in the 8th tier is making his claim look far-fetched. From what I have seen over the years of our club I am sure if there were genuine grounds for this claim the club would have dealt with it appropriately or is he claiming our guilt by association? From what we know of Ferdinand and Ramsey they have always called out such behaviour which makes these allegations all the more surprising.

My 'attitude' is gleaned from nearly 60 years of going to matches and even these days hearing vile abuse directed at players regardless of their ethnicity, football produces a hostile environment and players have to face it. It's not right but it is what it is...

Apparently Varane is back for Hull (back in the way our injured players come back so six games on the bench and two sub appearances before being fully back) which would make it look a marginally less stupid move because Hayden certainly ain’t it.
