The full-back pairing of Clement and Gillard has to be one of the best ever at the back. Certainly favourites in my eyes of all time for us.
Testimony that they were both picked for England at the same time too.

I think we had five players in the England squad in those days SW. Parkes, Clement, Gillard, Francis, Thomas and Bowles. Giddy times.

They were in the squad at about the same time but never played for England together.

Any of the old timers on here (even older than me) have any memories of a player called Derek Tye in the early/mid Sixties? Don’t think he ever made the first team, perhaps a youth player….
 
You’re younger than me mate! Just interested as this bloke, now sadly dead, was the first, and best, boss of a good friend of mine - in Australia. My mate has an interest in QPR because of him. Slim chance of anyone knowing of him, he obviously didn’t make the grade as a footballer.

The visitors then ruthlessly punished a poor touch from former Tottenham and QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt, as Trent Alexander-Arnold angled a superb ball into Diaz and the forward cushioned a header into Mane's path to give him a simple finish.
