Sadly on that day a young Ellers had his first Saturday job and his @@@@ of a boss (a Chelsea fan) wouldn’t give me the day off. I’m sure he did it deliberately. I missed the game, gutted.

I was in a similar situation for the sixth round game at home to Crystal Palace. I had a Saturday job in a butcher's in North End Road, Fulham. The owner was a Chelsea fan and wouldn't let me have the day off. It got to one o'clock and I was chomping at the bit ( I hadn't missed a game home or away that season ) so I hung my apron up and said ' see ya ' and never went back. A good decision.

What a day that was. We were high up in the stands and I remember someone threw his beer in the air when we scored, and it went all over me. I stank of beer on the train and bus home, but didn't care as we were going to Wembley. Ke Sera Sera......:emoticon-0159-music:emoticon-0159-music

Not directly relevant but I saw our Tone offloaded Caterham Cars last week.

I wonder if he’ll be clearing out other assets to (presumably) raise funds for his beleaguered air line?
 
always thought Remy was class. Sad it didn’t work out but what a goal. 8 years ago... doesn’t seem that long ago.
