please log in to view this image On 1st March 1930 QPR had to play Coventry City at Highbury after being banned from playing one home league within a 6 mile radius of Loftus Road following crowd trouble in the 0-2 defeat v Northampton Town on 18th January. In the meantime the club distributed this leaflet to fans at the next home league match after the Northampton match.The 'unsportsman-like' behaviour was fans putting a plank through the referees dressing room window in the Ellerslie Road stand after he gave some controversial decisions! Rangers won the match at Highbury 3-1 .
I think I’m right in saying that Charlton’s Keith Peacock holds the distinction of being professional football’s first ever substitute… or I might have imagined it. (the great Don Givens for Luton)
