Why do people have a hate towards an entire nation just because what their ancestors did, I have Jewish ancestors and Irish ancestors, I don't hate all Germans in modern society because what the Nazis did, if we hated a certain nationality because what our ancestors did, then everyone on the planet would hate each other
I think there are many many people who haven't a clue what racism really is and in a completely thoughtless way label anything as being racist. Oh, the irony!
Surely the racist element to that is from those offended as it implies they believe it's Pakistan, when the reference seems more regional than that, and also that there's something bad about being associated with where-everistan. Surely calling it Leicesteristan is only the same as the locals being proud of their demographics, in which case, where exactly is the offense?

I'd like a German to be manager. They are more straight forward and determined than most Englishmen. Scots are better than Englishmen. Enough of this wild generalisations. Most of what was done in the war between the military in Europe was fair. If I hated anybody it would be the Japs. Despite that they are very nice people now. But if we went to war with them I would start with nuclear weapons. I remember my dad on holiday and he was sat with a group of people. He suddenly said he hated the Welsh. My mam pointed out that one of the group was Welsh. He said: "I don't care. I hate them!" He was pretty placid most of the time.

I really should know better than to get drawn in, but it really is a genuine question. To be offended at being associated with a region implies it's you that has the low opinion, doesn't it? The alternative would be to be proud at the association and therefore there's no insult.
Likewise, i have Jewish ancestors. I was working with a guy that came out with this ' I hate Krauts' nonsense, he'd never been to Germany, met any Germans, but probably watched a lot of cheesy WW2 films.
