Exactly bridgend. Put ramsey in Allen's position, and vice versa, and it wouldn't work, completely different positions and roles to play. They are both effective and I'm glad they both play for Wales, of that I'm thankful. Hilts, very unfair comment. Allen had a lot of pundits purring last season, hence the untreated from Liverpool and Spurs. If you played our way, he'd walk into the team.
I haven't seen enough of either to compare their qualities and who is the better player. Having said that what is the criteria for deciding who is is better? They would include the following: Positional play Passing Attitude Fitness Maturity Professionalism All round ability Defensive qualities Attacking qualities Just a bloody good bloke
jump its a bit of a cop out to keep saying 'I'm glad they both play for Wales, of that I'm thankful'. lawrensen said on the commentary, 'neat player but i dont know where they got £15m from'. agree with hilts he's been hyped up by the media and you all seem to be buying it but i dont even think he's the best player in the swansea team, let alone as good as ramsey. ramsey has been performing well at champions league level for a good few seasons now.....and he scores goals too.....
"ramsey has been performing well at champions league level for a good few seasons now" Got to question that Swamp. Don't get me wrong, I'm as big a fan of Rambo as anyone - will never forget his first appearance at NP, a swivel of the hips and the opposing defender was swinging at fresh air and clattering into the wall. However, Rambo rarely started the big games when Fabregas was at Arsenal and, while starting a number of games in Europe, did not have a great season last year. I think his best is yet to come and this could be his year. As a Spurs fan, you have no idea how much it hurts to say that.
Haven't be arsenal fans been booing Ramsey? Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of his, would prefer Allen and Ramsey in he same midfield as they both offer something different and don't think Allen is worth 15m but hey, of Liverpool are willing to pay who are we to demand less? But to say he's been performing at champs league level is very debatable. Will he even make the team when wiltshire returns?
Last night I wouldn't say was one of his best performances. He lost the ball a lot of times, misplaced a few passes, made no key plays and was not solid defensively. Another game or two and then I think he will definitely be pulling the strings in his position.
It's looking pretty good for Wales on the international football front. Some real quality there these days. Not saying for one minute Wales were poor, but always appeared to have one or two top players and a lot if lower league players. So many of the team are now plying their trade on the Premier League, which can only be a good thing.
Lots coming thro the youth teams and Speed and Flynn did a great job in that department with such a small number to choose from ...;O)
