I prefer to see a team that is going forwards, not falling backwards. I prefer to see my team winning at Rotherham than losing at Chelsea, purely because I prefer to see us winning. I go to see MY team, not the other 91 league clubs. I don't really care who we are playing. If QPR dropped to League 2 - or even further - I'd still be a QPR fan because they are MY team. Always have been and always will be. Are you really saying that you don't support QPR when they are not playing Chelsea or Man City? Are you a "QPR in the Premier League" supporter, but not a QPR in any other division" supporter? By the way, that's rhetorical, we already know the real answer, but I'm just putting it out there.
It's what top clubs do. They have a footballing philosophy and it runs through the club so we don't have the situation we have now of a new manager coming in and needing a complete overhaul of the whole club constantly. The manager becomes a replaceable cog in the machine and any new manager has to buy into that.
My theory eventually sees us where Swansea are, or at least plans to. Yours is designed to fulfil your short term goal of sitting in your armchair watching us while the poor sods who physically go and support the team see the same dreadful stuff served up this season forever.
Don't go then. Nobody's forcing you. The real fans will remain long after you're gone. We can't have a support base or a Club populated by wishy washy idealists. There's plenty of retreat centers and hippy communes for people of such weak dispositions. This game is about winning. And yes, its about winning at all costs. Folk like you Wats are for the dustbin of history. Natural selection will take its course and eventually, despite the best efforts of perennial losers within our ranks, we as a Club will prevail. I actually like Chelsea and now that QPR are gone from their weekly TV showing I shall watch Chelsea next season.
Sorry Swordsie but I don't think our antics over the last few years are sustainable so therefore I'd argue that wanting the same wreckless pursuit of short terms goals to continue in the hope of making it stick is idealistic (not very philosophically sound at that).

You would have us bankrupt ourselves to stay in the Premier League, you wouldn't (couldn't) watch us in the Championship or lower, and you would prefer watching us losing heavily to Chelsea than winning games in the second tier.
