There's an element of this discussion which focuses purely on the numbers. How many points, how many wins, how many losses. Comparing these numbers between managers would seemingly tell you a lot but reading this and other posts really rams home that it tells you absolutely nothing.
What makes him a better manager? I'd say the fact that Pelligrino was sacked with us 1 point above relegation, in a fight for survival after 1 win in 17 games. Hughes was sacked with us in the relegation zone with 3 league wins in 22. Whereas even in this awful run we are in at the moment, we have 6 wins from 22. Oh and the fact that, on arguably a smaller budget, Ralph has never had us in a proper relegation battle and actually rescued us from the mess Hughes got us in. The football (at times!) has been more entertaining to watch too. But apart from that, yeah they're on the same level
To say Ralph isn't better than Hughes and Pellegrino is very silly TBH. No other way of putting that.
Is it a coincidence that Tom becomes a Forum Moderator the week Mike Dean retires - are they one and the same?
Statement by not606 management. Tom's appointment is just the start of a much needed major overhaul for this Saints' board. Chilco, although obviously a nice guy was in need of another set of eyes to give him some back up. Many posts are of good quality but most have been poor since the beginning of March and have we really improved overall since the days of Beddy? Chico's statistics are practically the same as Beddy's when he was given the boot. Some blame the posters for not being up to standard but others are saying the problem lies with Chilco. Afterall, it was him who encouraged them to join in the first place and he has to take some responsibility. Bringing in Tom is seen as a new era and may well lead to others being shown the door but for now Chilco keeps his place. He will be backed by the senior mods in the summer recruitment window. There is a poll titled Chilco-in-or-out for you all to make your feelings known.
As much as it is a coincidence I really don't think we would've lost 9 nil once let alone twice if Tom was Mike Dean.
If our new owners have faith in Ralph and give him the backing he deserves, then my vote will change back to "in". My reason for the out vote isn't because I think he isn't good enough, it is because of the toxic atmosphere on Social Media which is disruptive and is damaging for the Clubs progress.
Football fans are fickle, even more so those on the socials. If we spend some money and start next season with a few wins they will shut up and fall in love with Ralph.
And all the RalphIn lot will say, “I told you so”, and then we will go on a 10 game losing streak. And so and so on haha
Michael Henke, Ralph’s former Assistant at Ingolstadt is available this summer. He is a highly experienced coach, has been assistant at Bayern and Dortmund, has been part of coaching teams that has won 2 Champions leagues and 7 Bundesliga Titles.
Good research Brixham, sounds logical. Are you a Sotonian that moved west?, i'm a Devonian from Teignmouth who made the reverse journey when I was 8.
Plus, if it all goes well, you will be the first to admit the Ralphin mob were right? Then we will go on a losing streak because you jinxed it, and we will be back to square one.
You're not a million miles away from the Dartington cider press are you?, I can see the attraction...
So someone doing a poor job means they don't deserve to be treated with common decency? Can't agree with that I'm afraid.
