No, as I will miss too many games for various reasons, but I will get to as many games as possible. Now my son has moved back to Southampton it will be a chance to meet up. Roll on August.
Last one this weekend Because I love football i've always felt additional entertainment to be unnecessary (Marching bands, cheerleaders etc) I don't think people are going to go to St Marys because of the half time entertainment. In fact I thought it was better business sense to make half time so boring people went to the concourse to spend money.
Yup. They need to train the staff to work at full possible speed and efficiency. It's only 15 minutes of effort. I reckon, having watched them, that a streamlined setup could complete each sale in half the time. I NEVER buy food at the stadium since joining the queue (first time I tried; I normally don't bother) immediately after the half time whistle and missing about three minutes of the second half. They only sell about ten items - it would be very simple to speed it up. The club would be happy (more turnover) and the fans would be happy (they get food and also see the game). Fans who don't eat would also be happier as there wouldn't be the 37th minute ebb tide of fans down to the causeway. Krueger told me a month ago that he will be visiting the concourses at half time - he's possibly already done it, so we should see changes. Vin
It comes down to organisation and preplanning. Lack of that slows staff up. Just moving faster is more likely to cause mishaps.
I agree, and chiefly I suspect that the "training" I mentioned is in short supply - why would you waste money training staff; it just costs money. What they need is an efficient system PLUS working at speed. Even a dunderhead like me can see that having someone drifting off from serving and waiting for coffee to be poured is grossly inefficient. As is having the server tell people when they get to the front that there are no pies (or whatever) rather than having a display so people can reorganise their order while still in the queue. I gave this far too much thought in the 15 minutes I was waiting when I gave it a go. Vin
Not sure if it would work, but perhaps having the food in front of the server (on a sushi style roundabout being loaded with stock at one end).
When it comes to the food, the things which take time are choosing what to order and exchange the money. These could be easily sorted if those things were sorted before kick-off. Folk order the food/drink when the enter concourse. They are given a token/receipt and just present it when picking up at halftime. There would be no running out because they would only sell what they have. Job done.
