I thought there wouldn't be any board changes this Summer. If we don't get any extra investment from Gao then we are in trouble, regardless of who is on the board. I agree on is point about not selling Van Dijk when we should have done. Should have tried to get close to £75 million in the Summer and move on as he was next to useless for us last season.

I read Ralph's mind once, and it was full of incomprehensible gibberish. Nothing would persuade me to open that tome again.

I spent far too many hours of my working life at management meetings, conferences, workshops, sundry other pointless carnivals of crap; Ralph would have absolutely excelled in an organisation like the one I worked for, so it really doesn't surprise me that an ability to brutally abuse the language of Shakespeare, while saying absolutely **** all, has carried him so far in life.

The trouble with Britain, really, is that everywhere you look the idiots are in charge; we really pulled off a coup though with Ralph; we had to import him.

I had more fun at the dentists today than I would expect to get listening to Ralph.

The middle managers in the NHS I used to regularly spar with would absolutely love Ralph.

That is a embarrassing interview. I get the feeling he thinks its funny how close to crisis we came. I don't want to hear from him again, its made me quite cross.

This feels like an interview by somebody whos job is to creatively interpret our season positively for Execs of companies that have never seen us play. Doesn't quite work if you have.

Apart from the usual spiel, I think Ralph made a couple of good points. He says the board will learn from their mistakes and don't want a repeat of last season. Talk is cheap though. I'm fine with selling players that don't want to be here. It's the main reason for most of our recent success. It refreshes the playing squad and gets rid of potentially harmful players.

You do run into problems when you're selling the players who do well, and keeping the ones who don't, however. For all the oblique criticism lobbed at VVD and his apparent toxicity, our problems kicked into overdrive when he left and we couldn't defend.

It is very challenging to draw anything from an RK interview. I dont know what else to write.

I honestly think it's quite contemptible to the fans to send this berk out with his bullshit. Do they honestly think we're so stupid as to not be able to see it for what it is?

Normal people don't like management spiel...fact, but ignoring that I don't get what you are all cross about. The only thing that I wanted a straight answer to....and didn't get...was: Are we spending lots of dosh?

What Ralph was saying was what I always thought: they got distracted by things other than what was on the pitch and were over confident because we had never been under serious threat during the Leihberr era. Their timing was wrong about changing managers, but as I've said before we had too many draws. More losses would have brought the truth home sooner. The bit about enjoying the losses against Arsenal and Chelsea was not meant to be taken literally...he meant it was better to play good/entertaining football and lose and win games than to play safe. Boring football isn't what we want....think we can all agree on that.

Obviously most people at the club (outside of the playing staff) are staying. We judge solely on what is on the pitch, but most have no idea what else these people are doing behind the scenes. If Les Reed and his team have been successful before, there is no reason not to think they could be again...is everyone successful all the time.

The team and board have had a shock and as said they should be judged on the response to that in the coming seasons.

Seems that Hughes is getting the job, but there is many a slip between cup and lip. Fingers crossed.
