Good post Billy. Every time this subject has come up rival fans link in sky tv and that isn't what it's about as we both know, it's completely diversionary. I referred to educating our own, not as 'me' educating anyone but I care very much that workers [like you've highlighted by posting this thread] are educating those who maybe weren't around or weren't aware that it's still a very raw issue on Merseyside. I think lynched is a bit strong but I apologise for upsetting you. This is one issue that makes my blood boil - so I'm sorry that you happened to be the one when the red mist descended.
Just responded to your apology in the pub Lynched is a strong word, too strong if being serious but I was already taking the piss after leaving the thread alone for a while TBH. this is a touchy subject and reactions always happen
Posties in south wirral which is in cheshire ie neston and ellesmere port are not being given the option at the moment not to deliver the sh*te
The reasons I won't subscribe to Sky aren't really that complex. They are as follows, in no particular order. 1. Sky ruined football. 2. Murdoch is a convict. I don't like them. 3. For me, there is an irrevocable link with the **** 4. Phone tapping and all that went with it (Murdoch guilty as sin). 5. Most of what's on Sky are repeats. 6. If I don't go, which sadly is more the norm these days, I prefer to watch the match in the pub for the banter.
This is an extremely sensitive issue on which I personally think we should leave each other to keep their own opinions. I have no wish to stoke the flames but would just like to point out that if you watch in the pub (like I do) you're watching a Sky feed anyway most of the time. It's difficult to get away from Murdoch wherever you go.
had an idea, not sure how much of a work around it is, but its something, i am going to tell my postie please don't post that ****e through my door, and if he says well i have to sadly, i will turn round and say ok compromise then, just put the ****ing thing straight in the recycling bin, cheers. its still technically delivered to my address, just not through my post box.
welllllll..... sky gave money. i think someone else would have. is it not money thats ruined football if anything? Competing with setanta, then espn, not BT has driven money higher and higher and higher.. I think most of sky is just like most of tv in the US. its all repeats cos there's 500 channels or more so it has to be 90% repeats but f me i used to watch black and white old movies of a saturday and sunday... all sorts of old laurel and hardy and all sorts so for me repeats are par for the course. as for the rest... yeah having guys around to banter is better than watching on its own.... but everyone hates rubert murdoch... the vast majority do I think.
Yes, but the money came from Sky. They enjoy a virtual monopoly and shouldn't have been allowed to get away with it.
Yes but on the other hand even as a monopoly they were made to pay vast sums for the privilege and now with competition the price is rising and scarily the price to us is not falling So frankly? Yeah sky got in first but the noses in the trough ruin football IMO That FIFA, the fa and dodgy owners, greedy agents and players Which is why I'd rather pay my club for viewing than these guys
St Helens Postie's vote to back their Skem colleagues and boycott delivering the rag in their postal area.
Add Runcorn, Neston and Ellesmere Port posties to that, with Preston and Essex posties raising concerns too
Thought this was amazing too - please log in to view this image accompanied by this message on twitter: @HJC_Official I know they don't deliver to Brooklyn, NY. But just in case. JFT96.
That's what I thought mate, but family members will be even wider spread now and who knows where the survivors have settled. 6 of the Skem posties who were the first to boycott delivery were at Hillsborough.
