City officials tried to make the "deadline" by visiting him on his death bed to push through the haaland deal. Scumbags
All that money screwed out of clubs and gone at 54, hope he enjoys his bank account from the furnace. Football is totally screwed and i have no idea how it happened. An agent is supposed to work for the player so why do the club pay his fee? If i was in the negotiation i would simply say to the player "your agent, you pay him" Players need to decide who they actually want to play for and not just let their agent sell them to the club that will pay "him" the most.
I didn't even know who he was, but having read about him, I saw his age and my first thought was well all that wealth was short lived, it puts human selfishness into perspective.
I can understand why he's so hated, but at the ned of the day he didn't work for the fans or clubs, he worked for the players, and they loved him. I read a story about one of his younger players who had moved to another country and was lonely, so he moved in with him for a while to help him settle in, helped paint his house etc.
He may well have worked for his players, but he made sure he took absolutely massive payouts for himself with every deal he made. Money that is not recycled within football, it just goes out of the game. As BRB has said, this greed (and it can only be called that) hasn't really paid off for him. I'm not in any way saying he deserves to be dead, just to make that clear. It's just that the obscene amount of money this guy made for himself, and for his players, can't actually be spent or fully enjoyed so is completely unnecessary. Does anyone, honestly, hand on heart, see twats like Pogba dancing around on Instagram think, fair play, he's earned his £300k a week there? Really?
