That's quite strange really in that I am now 66 and have never had my own children. That was purely down to circumstance in that I got married for the first time when I was 30 and she didn't want children. Divorced after 10 years, re-married a couple of years later to a lady with two boys who were 10 and 8 years old at the time. Shortly after we got together she was diagnosed with cervical cancer so basically had what was needed taken away.

Six years ago, first grand daughter was born and I can honestly say that I have marvelled watching her grow and develop. It is really only now that I know what I have missed, as I say, through circumstance. One of the few real regrets in my life....

My eldest daughter is living in China and although she's had a couple of boyfriends over the years she's never allowed them to get too close. We think she might prefer girls to boys, but she hasn't ever 'come out' so maybe she just likes being single. Our son is VERY popular with the ladies, but just like our eldest he doesn't seem to want a long term relationship or that 'special' person to share his life with. Our youngest daughter was our best hope of grandchildren, because she was in a 'proper' relationship with a nice chap and they were living together in Brighton (he's a Brighton fan). They'd been together for 4 years and were saving for a deposit to buy their own house. However, sadly they are in the process of splitting up, so it looks like we won't be having grandchildren any time soon.
I have to move fast with my move to the sun, before any of the above changes!!!!
