I'm watching the England v Nigeria match and have got to say that Sterling really frustrates me with his wayward shooting, inability to pick out the right pass and his ball greediness. And rightly carded for diving too!
He's a world beater for City but very frustrating for England. He reminds me of Shaun Wright Phillips.
When he plays for England I find I’m constantly saying “ he’s lost the ball again “. V. good for city maybe but always seems out of his depth for England
Only watched five minutes of it and that included seeing Sterling doing a terrible dive in an attempt to cheat in a friendly. Same old ****, I thought, and turned the tv off.
He did some very good things for England this evening. Turned his man beautifully at one point before trying an overly complicated finish. He was part of a good team performance in the first half. His dive was pathetic. In the second half England were hopeless anyway and he contributed to that hopelessness. As for doing nothing in Russia. Well, who would expect anything else?
23 goals for man c I think I'm not sure why he can't shoot on target for England. Other than that his 1st half performance was alright.
He was also culpable in the fiasco that lost us any hope of staying in the Premiership, ie paving the way for the Dourest of the Dour, I will never forget his performances last time he went to a tournament, yet he survived and prospers regardless. Some people are just born lucky and he is one of them, the dumb cluck doesn't even realise it, and that's what rankles most for me. The diver certainly sank us. Ah-men
Always wondered about him . Think he’s another of those who are good when everything around is firing , but cannot raise things himself. Doubted him when Liverpool as good as gave him time off ‘to rest’ after first 7 games of season because he’d been to the World Cup - where the training was probably low intensity and he actually played for half a game !
Understand the dislike for him but he's pretty good and still very young. With the right guidance he will be a weapon for England in the years to come.
