Ryan Giggs was well known for dodging playing for Wales during his career, did you by any chance think bad of him for doing so matth?
Did you speak out in support of his and his club/manager's right to pick and choose which games he was fit/not too tired to play in?
Nicky Butt in a recent interview said that Fergie said "i see you've been picked for England duty, you're not going", its the national manager and his medical team who decide if the player is fit or not isn't it?
Not unreasonable for a country that's never qualified for a major tournament. Century caps as a norm seem only to be happening now and trivialise them.
Wales didn't and even now don't get friendlies of the same quality opposition as England. So, when they were playing Qatar in a midweek friendly away from home Ryan stayed at home. Didn't do him or United any harm whatsoever. **** Wales.
The whole Sterling saga was so avoidable. I think both Hodgson and brenda must share the blame. Hodgson gave the impression that he would have selected Sterling but the player said he was tired, therefore affecting the selection of his team. Brenda has said publicly that all the players needed a 2 day recevry period, therefore blaming Hodgson for the injury to Sturridge. The upshot of this is now the public thinks that Sterling is behaving like a Diva and selecting the matches he wants to play in. He is far from that point and if he is not careful he will suffer from England managers not trusting him. He'll be the loser ultimately. How can a 19 year old be tired in October FFS?
He's only 19, night before the game he probably w**ked himself to death at the prospect of playing with Rooney and that's why he was tired
But that allowed him to manage his body to play into his40's and become the most decorated player in British history.
Don't be daft. He'd have learned much more from playing friendlies against Azerbaijan and Moldova than from playing against Bayern and Real in the Champions League. What a wasted career he's had...
