What the hell has that got to do with Rafa's ability as a manager? The financial and cultural circumstances were never equal in the comparison of Ferguson and Benitez. Therefore the question you pose is irrelevant.
You've highlight them but failed to highlight his worst move; selling Arbeloa for £3m and replacing him with Johnson for £17m Its worth pointing out that both the deals you highlighted were once H&G implemented the sell-to-buy mentality, as was the one I just said. PS...for every bad transfer, there is a good one. Reina for £6m? Agger for £6.8m? Mascherano for £18m? Alonso for £10.5m? Luis Garcia for £6m? Even Arbeleo again, we bought him for £2.6m!
Did we win another one whilst I was asleep? For what it's worth, I'd rather win the PL than the CL any day.
no no no.... nobody twisted rafa's arm to buy keane. rafa admitted finally the guy wanted barry playing some left wing role with keneae behind torre up front. rafa admitted it... it was nutsoid. rafa only got 2nd cos of the performances keane put i pre christmas 2008 where we matched chelsea. torres and gerrard were injured. after keane left we imploded upon injuries to gerrard and torres again and utd flew past us.... again his f'n fault for selling and not replacing. aquilani buy was crazy. buying injured player for twice his worth. in general rafa spent shedloads and assembled about 80% of a team before it fell apart. he deserved the sack. be thankful he had 4 good years 2005 obvious 2006 fa cup, 2 10 clean shet runs, fell apart at world club championship and tiredness 2007 cl final 2008/09 2nd he got himself the sack but sure if we got city owners not bloody g&H whatever but thats not reality.
I think it depends how you look at it. The better achievement is winning the league. As Shanks would have said; it's the bread and butter. However, unless the league is a close run thing where you win it on the last day, the celebrations and after party are not the same as when you win a trophy, especially if you're waiting on other league results too. For me, the best part about football is when you win something and are able to celebrate and party with fellow fans. Winning the league doesn't always offer that.
Of course it was sweetheart, it wasn't like the conversation was about European achievements now was it Just admit you ****ed up (to yourself, not some public announcement) and move along PS...take note of the brackets in this comments
shteve asked would you replace a european final ( ie the one we didn't win) with 3 league titles, hence me initially saying if we had won dif question. will be lots on here that will say league for obvious reasons in havent won the fecking thing in so long lol, but personally i would rather that European record, as i think that's what gets us noticed more than league titles.
If you're making comparisons (you shouldn't be selective) as the comparison (will be pointless). Sweet(heart).
Who said there wasn't a trophy? I know the Man Utd board is **** but there is no need to try and bring this board down to that level
This is what you said duckie "However, unless the league is a close run thing where you win it on the last day, the celebrations and after party are not the same as when you win a trophy". There is a trophy for winning the league (simple). You're having a mare today.
