You're right, Hughton, Roeder and Kinnear did well considering their circumstances.

Investment has been poor but 80m odd in isolation of one season is top 10 europe type spend. And regardless of what has gone before, it is certainly enough to expect to be sat in mid table and cure most of the main problems. Unfortunately if you just buy loads of midfielders when its probably your strongest suit...

There were only two from that list. You've got one right in Hughton.

    Kinnear and Roeder <laugh>

Hopefully Rafa will be announced as manager later on today. Ashley has supposedly been back in the UK one day and already things are starting to move faster.

Roeder did well considering no money and was ok!
Kinnear did well considering he had serious health issues and was a raving looney!

Both ****e. Don't know why I'm so harsh on Roeder as he had a tough time with injuries. I just always had a sneaking suspicion he was clueless.

If Ashley's having to stick his oar in, hopefully this means the end of Charnley sooner rather than later - appointed a crap manager in McClaren, stuck by him until it's basically too late, then takes forever to sack him and still no one confirmed.

Ashley seems pretty ruthless if someone's not doing there job, i.e. his 6 strikes policy at Sport Direct, and getting rid of his buddy Joe Kinnear for being a disaster with transfers.

Ashley has personally taken over the negotiations for this one I'm hearing.
That suggests that they are deadly serious. I just hope that Ashley doesn't stick to his guns and try to sell this ****ty recruitment policy garbage. We are in dire straits and crying out for a proper manager that has full control.

I feel like I have stepped into a parallel universe, where good things happen to NUFC. Still can`t quite believe what i am seeing and hearing.

    I feel weird...

    Looking forward to 23rd April.

    Rafa back at anfield!

Top appointment for you guys in terms of who he is and what he could do for you.. However with 9 games to go not sure he's the right kind of manager to keep you up. Should be interesting end of the season.

In complete shock....can't believe the club didn't mess this up in anyway shape or form (the Rafa signing). However they properly messed up the McClown sacking!

This must point to a change in policy, if it was just about survival then you would think maybe Pearson, moving for Rafa may suggest a real shift in the way in which the club is going to be run as Rafa wouldn't take a 3 year contract to be just another Head Coach, we live in interesting times.
