OK Swords, here goes: I feared the worst at the start (the Dutch training incident, the Russian fans and a couple of other skirmishes) but will say that it went pretty well from where I was sitting (at home). Things like the Panorama documentary are always going to seek out the worst quarters to make their point but I also think it's possible that the residents of the host countries and the people responsible for keeping it clean stepped up to make it decent (as opposed to ignoring an unruly element at their domestic matches). I still think it's sad that players' families didn't feel safe enough to go. Perhaps hype and me getting carried away with it. Perhaps the trouble got pushed underground. I don't know, am pretty badly read and have never claimed to be intelligent. Irrespective, it seemed to end well with no more trouble than any other tournament. Sorry Swords.
Bloody hell mate, no apologies necessary! Look at the amount of stuff I've gotten wrong in the past year. I was just trying to drag a few of the begrudgers out of their lairs . Not you Stainsy, you're top notch. I'm sorry you're leaving the Forum. I hope it won't be for too long pal.
No need for that mate. I just wanted some attention. I need to feel loved. I need to feel wanted. I need to feel desired. I WANT TO BE VALIDATED!!!!
I'm a human being too you know. I have wants. I have needs. Just like everyone else. People don't show me enough respect
What an awful attempt at a compliment to the Polish and Ukrainian people. That the only good thing to come out of this Tournament was that the Neanderthal, knuckle-dragging chimps had civility shoved down their throats? I suppose its no surprise coming from you Ozzie. Living amongst the Noggies for so long your brain has probably half melted by now. Or perhaps they mistook you for a Seal and cracked you one over the head wi' a Club during bashing Season???
I'm pretty much in the Staines camp as far as this argument goes. For the record Swords, I apologise to you. ( Although I can't remember why? ) But I'm very sorry for whatever I said that put me in the need to apologise to a lefty Irish do-gooder. Anyway... I'm so sorry for anything that I have ever said that may of offended you. Please forgive me me for my ignorance as I did not know better at the time of posting. I have always posted ... as far as I am aware things that would not offend anyone, regardless of age, colour , creed, sexual orientation, religion, club, country, nationality, or even gingernuts. As far as I'm concerned it dosen't matter if your gay , lesbian, jeohovah, jew, bi-sexual, or whatever... your all ****ing freaks in my book...weirdos!
I apologise for the above statement. Sorry Swords. I'm also sorry for anything I've ever written...over.
No compliment intended of Poles or Ukrainians, no criticism either! I can guarantee as well that absolutely nothing melts out here - freezing and drowning is a severe danger though!
I think we disagreed about this too Swords. The tournament was a huge success from where I'm sitting. But I still believe it was good to point out the arguments against holding it there. So I'm not going to apologise. And Swords - the success and relative lack of aggro in the tournament is your validation!
Received and accepted. Can everyone else send their apologies directly into my inbox because this is getting a little, well . Sooper, you can still post yours up on this thread. Any time today is no problem I'm going to have to log off now, I'm coming over all emotional..................
If it's because the tournament was relatively trouble-free apart from the Russian skirmishes then you were right and I was mislead by Panorama. So I'll give you that one...
BLOODY HELL! Didn't expect that one if I'm honest! Sooper, are you in danger of becoming a decent bloke???
