The 2022 fiasco was the worse of the two tournaments decided (we weren't likely to beat Spain irrespective of Russia) - hosting it in Qatar when they don't even know what season to stage it is evidence of incompetence at very best. What happened to the promised air conditioned stadia that they said would be in place?
I dont know, they were flip flopping between AC stadiums (but for the players only, not the fans. Who would watch a game where you had to sit in 40+c heat?) and playing it in winter. Panorama and the Sunday Times did their FIFA exposes before the actual vote, so the respectable media can't be accused of sour grapes for that. Plus I think the anti racist talk is genuine from people. As regards the vote, I think it might be more a case of we've been played by these ****ers, we'll take you down with us. Been slagged here for my conspiracy theories before -but here goes. They are more racist in Europe. Ukraine fought with Hitler didn't they? The french, spainish and germans all have very right wing elements as do the nordic countries now. why the surprise? The BBC are playing all this up - the government are playing all this up - the England team went to Auswich today and the Shingler museum - 'just to remind us all of the past and who is the enemy. The team will be wound up to retaliate on all this. Including Terry - it all smacks of building the whole thing up. If Terry does something heroic to fight racism like walk off - should he get let off by the magistrate? Watch the papers spin that one. We are just out of a Jubilee when we are all feeling a bit proud to be British. We are celebrating a queen closely associated with lifting morale after we fought facism. the latest immigrants are the eastern europeans - easy target to say why they are all not like us. Why don't be pull out of the European Union treaty around open migration and only keep the borders open for countries we like - like the dutch... in fact, why not call a referendum on our membership of the union post the summer - do we want to be associated with these Eastern Europeans? Amazing theory. No wonder you call yourself LaLa. However, if Britain was to make a stand against Nationalism, then closer ties with Europe would be the order of the day - not the other way around. You could be onto something there LaLa. I've certainly noticed a media attempt to hype up minor incidents in Poland / Ukraine. There has always been a strong anti-Europe feeling in the UK. Can't understand that one myself. I'd prefer if all Euro States became one Super Country administered from Brussels. United, we could stick it up the fu*king Yanks.

I think this could tie into DT 's theory. The panorama expose and the subsequent furore could easily be a media inspired attempt to try to influence the vote in England's favour. The timing was just prior to the vote and i can see it as a statement that anything other than a vote in England our favour is corruption. Yes they are corrupt but not for ignoring England's bid.

Swords your theory of a United Europe has all been done before you and I were born. There was a famous speech once that took place in I think 1934 (or there abouts) at the Royal Albert Hall. Thousands were there cheering on the speaker for his supposed forward thinking views. Who was the speaker ?? One Mr Oswald Mosley, leader of the British Union of Fascists. So you see, it's all been done before.
