I had plenty of money available but in the end decided property was a better investment than standing for government for the sake of sticking a middle finger up to the candidates avilable
Would it not have made more sense to as kme to remove the profanity whilst still alllowing my post to remain as it had a point aimed at a different poster who may or may not have read it yet? Your acting like a grumpy old nazi...
I'm heading towards 800 posts on this forum - i always try to be constructive, positive and fair in my analysis of both football and non football topics. I'm sure most who have seen my posts on the forum know i'm not a wum or a trouble maker. I have never had to have a post removed or changed by a mod. Highburyghost has like 50 posts and everytime i remember seeing him post it is negative and argumentative. I make a rise to him as he is patronising and rude to me - yet my comment is deleted without askiong me to change it and his comments go untouched? Despite me even making an apology on this thread... Moderators getting over-excited?
I strongly object to being censored on a football forum because i dare to comment back to a poster who is constantly rude and dismissive of others opinions.
Goonercym i assume as a moderator you made sure you copy and pasted my comment elsewhere before removing it so that i have a fair means to argue for it's inclusion on the site?
So what is the instruction given to moderators on this forum? Delete anything you don't like, don't give warnings or ask anyone to change anything, just get rid of it if you personaly dont like it? Had you been a capable moderator you would have my post somewhere as the first line was insulting and a retaltion to HighburyGhost but the second paragraph basically summed up my point to him. So you have decided his rudeness was fine but mine not due to my language and removed my valid reasoning as well as punishment?
Bloody hell...between the office and getting to my home PC looks like afcftw has had some sort of meltdown and it's apparently my fault. Look mate, you only think I'm dismissive because no matter what I say you want to cling to your irrational fears and pre conceived notions of being some sort of victim of a conspiracy...which I find ironically delicious as you're dismissing out of hand a "conspiracy" that would affect black managers in football (although I myself would never call it a conspiracy...there is none). What I find interesting is you're ready to dismiss the MP's claims, backed up by a study and evidence, but get irate no one takes your anecdotal evidence seriously. Do you see where your lack of reciprocal respect puts you at odds with others trying to discuss things rationally? For my part I am inclined to agree with a poster above who states that it's probably down to less black players in the the era current managers like Redknapp, Dalgleish or Ferguson played in. But it bears discussion. what doesn't help is your insistence of injecting near fictional tales of quotas and other social engineering that is actually illegal, into the discussion and pretending it's all common practice.
From some strange reason you seem to be getting very upset over one deleted post.If i was a cynic i'd say you were deliberately trying to cause trouble
afcftw To afcftw, here is your comment. As you say apart from the first line, the comment is fine. So if we undelete it, are you going to remove the line that would have just started trouble. Are you happy with this solution?
Wow... just wow.... you do realise that all my comments about black managers have been to suggest other possible reasons than racism so as to encourage people not to jump the gun on the racism card? My suggestion was that the reason we have less black managers was due to less black players in the previous era... now you seem to be agreeing with me on that? And the reason i think your dismissive is due to the way you have conducted yourself. Point blank saying im wrong and go and look at the law. Despite my point being not being that is is a legal requirement but rather that in the industry i work in it is common practice to keep track of ethnicity and is encouraged by the government. This isn't anecdotal evidence but simply the reality of the industry i work in. I never once said we force people to put down there race but that it is part of the contract of employment and that we are encouraged by local government to keep trak of thsi information. What you seem to be missing is that nothing you have said changes what i am saying. Pointing to the law doesn't change the fact that local government put pressure on services companies to keep track of ethnic background of employees and management. You can choose to not believe me but that is different to me being wrong. It is part of my day to day job to deal with forms that deal with this issue in an industry which is far more highly populated by ethnic minorities than the news or finance industries.
Thank you superjack - i just re-said my point but not quite as articulate as the first time around! Please re-instate the post and i'll remove the first line happily. As soon as cym first pointed it out i agreed i was wrong and said sorry.
@cym - if i was a cynic i might think your just a bored old man looking to cause trouble. You removed a post when there was no need to after i had already said sorry to you as soon as you pointed out my comment wasn't appropriate. You then went on to simply answer No with a thumbs up when i questioned your actions.
Because, and not to belabour the point...you're wrong...go look at the law. I'm not going to massage it for you so I look more fair and balanced. There's no balance to a wrong statement. It's just wrong. If I said the sky is pink you;'re activing as if someone being dismissive of that is somehow a bad thing. Wrong is wrong. If I come across dismissive it is because I dismiss out of hand what you suggest. Glad we could clear that up. I didn't look who it was who said that, and finding it was you makes this even funnier. Because then it bears the question, why on Earth did you sully your good point with all the other nonsense you've come out with that simply made you look like someone with a particularly rancid agenda? If there is another reason behind the numbers that's fine, but your comments were a cry against positive discrimination backed up by sketchy examples when it wasn't even relevant. Why?
