Can you provide a link that shows where JT admitted to racially insulting Ferdinand. I will be only too happy to retract my objections if you can.

    Spot on Jayram.

The British "news" media has over the past couple of decades contributed to the development of an unthinking, jingoistic culture of hatred for "foreigners".

I no longer read newspapers and try very hard to find online or TV sources that can provide some serious evidence based arguments, properly analysed. They can be bl***y hard to find amongst the dross though.

Dude are you being serious ????

Are you saying that Terry and Suarez making racist comments to black footballers is only on a par at worst to Blatter saying there is no racism in football and if there is it should be sorted out with a handshake ???

Is that like a rapist not quite being as bad as a man saying rape isn't that bad ????

Or like the perpetrator of a crime of fraud where a pension fund was duped not being as bad as a man claiming fraud isn't bad ???

I don't get your logic at all, it makes zero sense.

Hot, I am not saying that at all. I believe racism is racism, fraud is fraud and rape is rape. What I am saying is that Blatter's racism is more damaging to the reputation of the game. I would also add that Blatters comments are on record (and in context) unlike those attributed to JT and Suarez.

Overall, I am amazed that some are so determined to protect Blatter, despite his overt, contextualised, bigotry by using unproven allegations towards others. That one of his defenders is a self confessed misogynist explains it a little?

I do love the intelligence of the majority of Arsenal posters on here. Makes me proud to be a gooner. Special shout to Jayram and who has hit the nail on the head so hard it's gone through the other side.

Sometimes you have to think about agenda's and even I was immediately taken in by the 'Blatter outrage'

Whether Blatter was foolish, ignorant, taken out of context, or hounded by some kind of media crusade,
you can't hide the fact that his comments showed him to be totally out of touch with what's actually happening in the game.
I think the 'outrage' is less about racism and more about the demonstration of his ineptitude at the head of FIFA,
Bring in someone who's in touch with the modern game like Franz Beckenbauer <ok>

Platini is a good candidate in my view
I agree with his views on transfer spending, wage caps and financial fair play for clubs.

Gents, am I missing something here ?? When was Blatter racist or more tot he point when did Blatter say something that was racist ?

My understanding is he is denying racism exists in football and for the isolated incidents where it does happen a handshake should be the end of that.

Blatter is a total idiot in this respect and he keeps apologising for saying stupid ****, he should quit his post, he does more harm to FIFA than good. But being a denier can in no way be as bad as being the perpetrator.

What exactly is a false accusation?

I think the accusation is unproven, but it is not exactly unfounded either. Most of those can't even be considered frivolous.

I think he makes a good point that there are far worse things bringing the game into disrepute that an old man making a naive comment in what is his second language.

As someone else pointed out HE was not being racist in any way.
