Here we are then, team, seven quiz quests. Can the great (or even not so great) brains of the membership get them all correct?!? I think one or two might prove beyond the forum. Am I right or am I wrong?!?
1. Name the Trainer – I did a ‘stable tour’ in a national newspaper in 2016 giving my thoughts and aspirations for around half (space only allowed for this amount) the horses in my barn. One of my then owners, whose horse was not mentioned, was so incensed at his exclusion that he withdrew the animal from my stable.
2. Mr Henderson, the forum’s favourite trainer, flew by ‘Air Hendo One’ up to Musselburgh in February 2016 for one of the courses major days. Which one of his owners collected him from the old airport and drove him to the racecourse???
3. Which legendary racing figure used to have a fictitious butler called Carruthers whom he used to vociferously blame whenever he was late for an appointment or function???
4. Name the retired Jockey – A truncated 26 December + Very, very common + mmmmmmmmn cake
5. 'King’ Kieren Fallon first met Natalie Cecil in the kitchen at Warren Place. Sir Henry was also present in the kitchen, at that time, but what was he doing???
6. Racing is heavily featured in the Agatha Christie novel ‘The ABC Murders’ with Poirot and the gang dashing off to Doncaster when they believe a murder will be committed at the racecourse on St Leger day. There is a murder in Doncaster that day but not at the racecourse. Where is the crime committed???
7. Name the Trainer – My Grandfather was a spy in World War II. My Father trained UK Classic winners. But I trump both of them because I’ve got Mr Ponsonby, God bless him and save him, on my roster of current owners.
I'll post the answers tomorrow morn.
