Under James Vowles they will do what is right for the team to progress. It is evident that Claire was a caretaker and not a very good one. Paddy Lowe messed up further although he seems to be making headway with Zero Petroleum and may yet have a part to play in F1's future with the sustainable fuel solution in 2026.
Liam Lawson to continue and race again this weekend. AT not wanting to rush Daniel back. I wish someone could get a seat for that young Kiwi for next season.
Formula 1: RB make three senior appointments before 2024 season Published 1 day ago Share please log in to view this image IMAGE SOURCE, DAN ISTITENE - FORMULA 1 Image caption, Alan Permane has joined Racing Bulls following his exit from Renault last year By Andrew Benson Chief F1 writer Red Bull's junior team have made three key senior appointments as they seek to improve their competitiveness into the 2024 season. The team - which changed their name to RB, short for Racing Bulls, last week - have recruited former McLaren technical director Tim Goss as chief technical officer. And Alan Permane, sacked by Renault last year, will be in charge of engineering operations at races as racing director. Guillaume Catellani joins from Red Bull's senior team as deputy technical director. Goss, who resigned from his position as technical director for governing body the FIA earlier this month, becomes the team's engineering lead, reporting to new team principal Laurent Mekies, who joined from Ferrari last year. Mekies said: "The appointments of Tim, Guillaume and Alan add a vast amount of winning expertise to the team, and I have no doubt that they will help take the team to the next level in F1. "We already have a very strong and hugely experienced group at the team and bringing onboard highly skilled individuals like Tim, Guillaume and Alan will boost our capability and help us meet the highest technical standards, both at the factory and at the track." Goss spent 28 years at McLaren until losing his job in 2018 as the team went through a restructure following a loss of performance. He said: "There's an exciting challenge ahead of us but I think the team is well-equipped to meet that head on." The 60-year-old heads the team's technical department and will oversee technical director Jody Eggington, with Catellani next in seniority. Permane had been at Renault in its various guises for 34 years when he became the victim of a management reshuffle in the middle of last season, which also saw team principal Otmar Szafanauer lose his job and chief technical officer Pat Fry choose to move to Williams. A widely respected figure in F1, Permane's move amounts to a promotion from his former position at Renault. He said: "After a few months of downtime, it's great to return to racing again. "From long experience, I know how professional, driven and competitive the people within this race team are and I can't wait to see where that spirit can take the team in the future." ******************** I can’t speak for anyone else , but I’m really pleased Alan Permane has got a place in F1 ************
Yes. I was a bit worried for Alan Permane when he left Alpine if he would remain in Formula 1,we need men like him in the sport. I always wonder if he left in protest of Otmar getting terminated? Anyway Visa cash app now have a class line up,but will they be allowed to move onto greater things,if they start to challenge the main team?
this car is red bull lite now. under the skin its basically a championship winning car. a lot of the aero is similar but not identical to rb23. put a fiver on ricciardo podium in Bahrain. but only a fiver
I thought this too to begin with, but some of the interviews with their tech team seemed to indicate they have taken some directions which will only pay dividends when they add development through the season which is in pipeline- they very much played down the start of the season. They might be bluffing us of course and I’d love to see Danny Ricc go well and then replace Perez.

RB reveals “chameleon” F1 Miami GP livery The RB Formula 1 team has unveiled a multi-coloured one-off livery for the Miami Grand Prix. please log in to view this image Filip CleerenMay 2, 2024 at 1:27 AM 9 please log in to view this image Photo by: Red Bull Content Pool For the Miami event the Anglo-Italian team has repainted large parts of its VCARB01 car in what it has called a chameleon livery, akin to the similarly named prepaid debit card issued by one of its two title partners Cash App. The team has retained its blue and silver engine cover and its red and white wings, but has changed the rest of the car, with its one-off livery running from the nose through the sidepods and towards the rear wing endplates. The result is a rainbow-like mishmash of colours – including teal, pink, orange, and yellow – as the recently rebranded team aims to stand out from the midfield crowd. “Visa Cash App's Chameleon Livery is the perfect colour scheme for our first race in the US,” said RB CEO Peter Bayer. “Since the team's Las Vegas launch in February, we've taken some big steps forward, and we're bringing fans on an exciting new journey. “That desire to progress and connect is shared with Visa and Cash App, who are bringing people together in the sport through experiences that are unlike anything else out there. “This incredible livery and the events surrounding its launch here in Miami demonstrate their commitment to the team and F1, and we can't wait to see the Chameleon VCARB01 in action this weekend.” please log in to view this image please log in to view this image RB F1 Team VCARB 01 livery The livery, which will be used by Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda this weekend, was revealed at a launch event in Miami's Wynwood district, which is renowned for its street art, the first of several off-circuit activations that Bayer promised would set the team apart from its previous guises. The squad and its partners are trying to attract a younger audience, with the livery swap not coincidentally taking place in the home market of both Visa and Cash App. “One of the main discussions we had with our partners was that we are aiming at that whole new, younger audience, which we are reaching through social media,” Bayer said earlier this year. “It's about racing, obviously, and we want to be very serious and focus on the racing, but at the same time we want this team to be valuable, to have some entertainment. “We want to democratise the sport through partnerships by inviting fans who cannot come to the race track because maybe it's not affordable or it's sold out, to add events in the city centre with big music acts. “It's that combination of on-track performance combined with off-track entertainment and that Red Bull spirit, which is what we want to give to the fans.”
It's just done to get a bit of publicity for this sponsor in this window where the f1 buzz might be enough to actually bother advertising the sponsorship in the USA. They will drive out first in quali etc to see seen and drive round the back as per.
Can someone please tell me who selects the drivers for this team ? I think it’s Marko / Horner , but I’m not sure and can’t find it on the net .
I think it's Marko & Horner but I'm not sure how much of a battle they have! Marko, I think is in charge of young driver program. With the reported internal battling for control I'm not sure who is in charge really
Now this is a livery. It reminds me a bit of the Honda special that RedBull ran a few years back (Turkey 2021 IIRC). please log in to view this image
