Klopp wanted mane to do it but origi did such a poor job wide left he first switched him to no 9 and then took him off.

Then v Huddersfield guess what... no origi.

I've said all year the front 3 need competition. But people keep saying nobody will come. If we end up playing sturridge for last 4 (or 5) games cos of injury then i hope the point is not proven

Its why we need a Werner type and or Brandt. I bet Klopp would love to rotate the front like he does midfield, but just can't

I've never said nobody will come - just that it may be harder than you think to get the sort of quality we need.
Already established players of the necessary level may fear limited game-time. We'll just have to see.

My view on this is "established" and "level" are things which i might understand but do not feel are given.

    What was mane
    What was salah
    What was firmino

I would contend none were at the level theyve reached for us, not even close.

They were established however, good players at lesser clubs.

So when I hear about psg players, or players at Italian clubs or players at real Madrid I just ignore it.

My view is klopp will buy talent and talent that will compete with the 3.

He didn t do it this year with shaqiri.... cos imo he spent the cash on alisson...the greater need and the risk has handsomely paid off (no injuries) . I think origins attitude pleasantly surprised him too.

But he cant keep doing it.

He may be happy with brewster as an option, but he's not imo happy with shaqiri and doesn't rate Wilson so my view is still that he will buy another attacker who can play across that front 3. Mane did ok at false 9. Salah can play 9. Firmino is best at 9. We need someone who can play left side imo

Even ignoring that he can no longer sprint or that he's not as work hungry as most others in the squad, he's still not good enough on tbe ball. Like I said before we signed him, he's got velcro on his boots. He simply can't release the ball without having seven touches first. He had a couple of chances to play his strike partners in yesterday but hung on to the ball too long.

I think we should bring Marko Grujic back next season, he is doing fine on loan. We should not waste money on players
that might take time to jell. Naby Keita is playing better and we are going to see his best next season.

Maybe but that's yet another no 6.

    We need to have balance.

No 6s. Fabinho, windy (hate him up the pitch, won't pass), grujic, Henderson.
No 8s Keita, ox, lallana (goner), milner (ancient), Henderson

Imo there's room for a box to box player if we clear some.

There's certainly room for a full back

And imo a wide forward is an absolute must

FBs is a necessity imo but depends how Klopp sees Gomez. I suspect Jurgen see's Gomez and Milner (if he stays) as FB cover.

Salah, Mane, Bobby & Origi isn't enough for the front three spots, I think this should be the priority area if my suspicions on Jurgen/FB are correct.

I don't think midfield is a problem. We've lacked creativity but Keita is finding his feet, Hendo as re-found his form after being moved forward slightly and The Ox is on his way back too.

Dunno. Could be he might think to wait for ki for example and be happy to make do. But he needs real competition for Robertson as 50-60games up and down the pitch is Just not sustainable.

As we agree on forwards its the midfield then.....

Ox has to be seen to be fully back. His run about yesterday was a nothing really. It'll take time.
    Keita has done well yes.

My issue here is we don't play two 6s.

We need 4 no 8s imo to get through a season. If ox and Keita are two then who are the others? Henderson and?

My view is lallana is now a liability most likely. He played a good game and then gone again. Windy for me is not an 8.

So I honestly think there's room there for another player

I thought he was a decent signing when we first got him, but he has not developed into the player I thought he would become. Maybe we should keep him another season to see how he turns out, he is a decent squad player.

We’ve been incredibly fortunate that we haven’t suffered too many injuries to our front 3.

I’m sorry but I’ve probably just jinxed us.

Injuries to Gomez was rather unfortunate, there was a time we were short of defenders.

    why squads are vital.

Matip has done brilliantly. have have to wonder how.lucky we were lovren pulled his hamstring as Matip got that collar bone injury in a stupid petulant last minute bridging incident. If Matip had not got back in I just wonder where we would have been.

    who knows.

But the point is that we've 8 defenders plus Moreno for 4 spots
and 6 midfielder a for 3 spots plus Jones who can't get a minute.
and then we've origi sturridge and shaqiri as somehow cover for the front 3

i have been told mo got it, not sure how they work it out though.

if 3 players got same number of goals it should be shared, one each and has joint top scorer on it.

probably trying to save the ££££ <laugh>

Both were awarded it and had pictured together. Anyways it's good to see Salah isnt just a one season wonder and Mané is holding his own too
