This might sound bad but I can't even watch coverage of this on TV. I switch over when it comes on, it's nauseating. Why the **** is there a gathering outside Belfast City Hall? 'Oh look at us America, we love you'. Bollocks. There is a lot more children dying everyday in Africa due to a lack of something to eat and the world comes to a standstill over 2500 deaths a decade ago.

Yes natural disasters have occurred over the last 10 years and took an enormous ammount of lives but I think the most startling thing about 9/11 was the ammount of people killed in what 2 hours in one of the most startling acts of terrorism many people have seen in their lifetime.

When I started this thread, I referred to ALL innocent victims. To clarify I should have qualified it by saying ; Whenever and wherever in this mad world. I know that I am being stupid to hope that humans should be able to co-exist without the compulsion to kill each other - but without hope there is only despair.
I am sure that the peace loving per centage of the population of this planet is probably 99% + So, why can't peace prevail?

Yes but many nationalities were involved in the tragedy.

Pal, millions, upon millions have been killed, countries destroyed, and they compare to the collapse of a single building? now tell me as a human being, with the most basic of common sense, is that right? clearly not

A human being is a human being ER. Regardless of what nationality they are. I find a child dying through the lack of food at least as horrific tas someone dying in an attack. All that the starving kids got was Bob 'the ballbag' Geldof. It's not fair <ok>

Tragedies such as 9/11 give people something to pin their grief on. It's a single event which is easier to get your head around.

People dying on a day to day basis through hunger, war, industrial accidents etc. are more difficult to put into a single event and tend to make less impact.

I'm not saying it's right that people show grief over events like 9/11 or the death of a bimbo princess but that's human nature for you.

She was the peoples Princess <ok>

I think it was Billy Connoly who said that most of these people going to London to mourn for Di wouldn't even travel a few miles to tend their own mothers graves.

It's not a ****in competition for grief?

Thousands of people were killed in 2 hours, live on our TV.

You don't have to give a **** but be respectful for those that do.

Sadly, the other 1% are the murdering scum bags that are calling the shots. The 1% that has so many vested interests in strategically sited military bases & oil pipelines. The same 1% that make so much profit from war that the death of a few thousand means nothing, nor is the nationality of the victims significant to them.

The morons that make up the American public continue to vote for the same old self-serving murderers time after time and are therefore deserving of all they get.

A bit like that unsavoury character, Neil Lennon and the bullets/bombs.

Don't be ridiculous Tina. America has been running about the world invading countries and killing their people for a long time. You cannot expect to do that and not have any come back. Comparing what America does and Neill Lennon being an Irish Taig is silly.

His ginger hair is like a red rag to a bull. If you think otherwise, you're seriously deluded, edge.

    God bless America.
