Just got in and sat down with a cuppa to catch up on the days news when this flashed up. I cannot believe this news, l have read it and re-read it numerous times in the vain hope that l somehow have misunderstood. I am shocked and deeply saddened. RIP Cheick and thank you for some wonderful memories in Black and White. My thoughts are with your young family too.
God doesn't tell tiote what to do. Tiote tells god what he should have done. He's in a better place now. Angels will be looking over their shoulder now as they can hear him coming to tackle them while a distant scream from st James park can be heard saying "shoot" and he obliges..... And it goes over the bar.......nothing changes. Rip!
Yeah hard to believe. He's the last guy you'd think this would happen. He always looked such an athlete.
Sad news. Always makes you think when someone so fit just collapses like that. Could happen to anyone at any time! Makes you realise should treasure every day. RIP Tiote.
Life can shock when you don't expect it. It tells us that we should all give our loved ones some good memories. Feel for his family.RIP Cheick.
I hated him but that's rivalry! This is utterly devastating news. 11 years younger than me ffs. RIP to the big fella. Thoughts with his family
Total shock. Him and Cabaye were an absolutely vintage CM partnership. Very sad to hear this. RIP Mr T
Very sad news, thoughts for his family. Tragic to go so young. Some good memories and that game ended by that goal will live long in the memories of all who saw it. RIP big fella
Really sad news. Fine player particularly in his first few years with the club. Don't think it was a coincidence that his good run of form coincided with a recent purple patch for us in the Premier League. Everybody remembers this being Cabaye's time but Tiote provided the platform for him to play. Everyone remembers the goal against Arsenal but this strike was pretty impressive as well. Think we should ask the Premier League to have it awarded posthumously to him.
Gutted, such a shock, thank you Cheick for the time at NUFC, thoughts are with you and your family RIP. I feel NUFC should mark it's respect with some sort of benefit match, although not sure of the protocol as he belonged to another club.
please log in to view this image One of my favourite Tiote pics. I have to say I have a new found respect for Pardew following his statement, very nice words indeed.
I agree. There is no reason why there couldn't be a benefit match between a Newcastle XI and a Friends of Tiote XI (for example). It wouldn't even need to interfere with anybody's pre-season as it would probably be a very friendly match with a lot of ex players playing on both sides.
