He was The Greatest. Cassius Marcellus Clay became Muhammed Ali; a proper legend and great, great man. I wondered if anything more needed saying, but my predictive text did it for me: when I entered his lesser known middle name of Marcellus, up popped Marvellous! Wasn't he just! RIP
He was the Greatest. I too remember his fights. From the knockdown by Our 'Enry to the Rumble in the Jungle, Thrilla in Manilla etc.
Not much to add to the eulogy for the legend who still is The Greatest, apart from his quote "Don't count the days, make the days count" RIP
If you even dream of beating me you better wake up and apologise. I'm fast. I turned the light off and was in the bed before it got dark. Rip
Sometimes, very occasionally, we lose someone that we didn't really know, or hadn't even met, but it just doesn't feel that way, it feels like I have lost a close family member, and that, for me, is the true mark of the man. RIP The Greatest, RIP Muhammad Ali.
He was a true legend of the sporting world and an idol of mine since he fought at the Olympics. Saw both his fights in London against Cooper. A very sad loss. RIP Muhammed Ali.
Three letters, and most of the world knows exactly who you mean. That's just one mark of a truly great man. please log in to view this image
Just seen this, some of the things he said and That Were written about him were pure gold !! "The day of the Ali fight I bought my wife a powder blue negligee and told her 'wear this tonight, 'cause you'll be sleepin' with the heavyweight champion of the world'. That night, when I got back to the room, she said: 'Do I go to his room or will he be coming to mine?'". Chuck Wepner, beaten by Ali in 1975
True legend! Ali Quote: "I wish people would love everybody else the way they love me. It would be a better world." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...30-best-quotes-from-the-heavyweight-champion/
Can't really add anything to the fine tributes already paid, a true legend. 2016 - Bowie, Cruyff, Prince, Ali. What a bastard of a year although I struggle to think of many others that have had the influence of these four.
