I just heard part of a headline on the radio. Apparently one of the Monkees has died. He was only 48 which surprised me.

It would be a surprise, particularly as they started having hits fifty years ago (they're all in their 70's)

Been out and only now seen the Prince news.

    Jesus Christ, not another...

One of my top 10 fave artists for certain. This is a blow.

If there is any silver lining, we may now get to finally see and hear all of the projects he kept hidden in his vaults. There's apparently ****ing loads of stuff.

So many taken this year. The Sunday Express is asking on their front page why this is happening. I hope they have the answer.

It's been all over the news this week. They reckon not that more folk are dying but that because of media, social media, etc,etc more folk are known as 'celebrities' so their deaths get more publicity. It's an opinion.

Maybe so with the "celebrity" status, but there have been some big names that have gone this year! Personally I think it's just a lot of people are at the age that we grew up with them, making it more of an impact!

Probably not PC but wtf, most of those who have passed away had reached at least their 60's, except Prince of course, and what the saying? 3 score and 10? I'm afraid that although sad what is ever sadder to me is when kiddies, from babies upwards to 18 die, some of diseases more akin to adults and some for no reason at all. Some have diseases I have never heard of and I'm talking of the UK here, seeing youngsters wired up to machines to keep them alive puts 'celebrities' in the shade for me. Many of these pop icons have, lets face it, abused their boddies with alcohol and substances over many years, some are still with us amazingly enough, so the fact that some are still around is a miracle in itself, some of those kids had no choice at all they just got ill.
