I'll agree to that. To the rest of your post, you are right we have spent a lot and been exceptionally poor compared to our purchases however this is apparently one of the best Spurs sides you lot have seen in decades so surely not being able to beat our poorest side in nearly 10 years is not a great achievement? The fact Arsenal have overtaken you after such a huge gap shows Spurs have embarrassed themselves imo.
If we had Ivanovic fit and Romeu match fit then the likelihood is Ramires would not have had to play on the right hand side as we wouldn't have needed cover for Bosingwa. On the Wembley pitch Lennon wouldn't worry me. Ensil to use the Muamba thing is quite sick and twisted, even for you
Jeeez chill out. Most Chelsea fans (myself included) accept you were the better side today, but we were at WHL. However this is your best team since the days of Hoddle, Ardiles, Perryman etc. And probably our worst since the early/mid 90s. You bite way to easily, take a tampon mate
''Jeeez chill out. Most Chelsea fans (myself included) accept you were the better side today, but we were at WHL. If this is really your 'worst team for years' then how are you going to improve it and stay within the FFP rules? You won't get much from selling the bunch you all think are past it, so you'd better hope that Torres comes good, and some of your young players make the grade.
Exactly Spurs are in a false position, they are only there because Dalglish wasted £100m on dross signings and because Chelsea refused to address the clear problems we had last year. In essence, finishing 2nd last year was the worst thing that could of happened to us, if we'd finished 4th I am sure we'd have got rid of the likes of Malouda and Bosingwa last summer. Spurs are only 5 points better off this season than they were last, so this idea that Spurs are some kind of super-team is one of the biggest myths in football, however it should still ensure Harry gets the England job. Excellent work by the media. The standards have definitely risen from last year. We'd only have been 3 points off a top 4 spot last year with our current points tally, with Arsenal being our only hard game I am sure we will get more points than last year despite not making the CL. Can we really say we improved as a squad? No, so 5th is what we should expect and about where we are.
I think we are exactly where we should be. We've got the third best first XI and the fifth best squad. So third/fourth is exactly right. Last year we were fifth best on both and finished there too. Chelsea spent nearly as much as Liverpool, not our fault if you can't spend wisely.
Arsenal have a better first XI than you and your XI is on par with ours but you have more squad depth.
Why do people continue to go on & on about these FFP rules? We ALL know they are totally unenforceable!
I couldn't give a flying **** - you obviously could though! Football is a business these days and there is no other business scenario where the business owner can't put his own money into his own business so why don't you **** off & cry somewhere else - you bitter twat!
I am not bitter about this at all and I don't think I've said anything to deserve this sort of abuse. Your mods ban our guys for much less. I like football because it is a SPORT. It is a business as well but the authorities are trying to control how much rich owners can put in and I agree with that. Such a rule would probably have caught Spurs in the 60s but it is still the right way to go. If the rule is there then clubs should abide by it, not try to work around it. To answer Drogs - not to comply with the rule and hire a bunch of lawyers to scare off UEFA is cheating. It's not 'Investment' because you've got nothing tangible for the money spent on transfers and wages. The point about a football club is to win by playing football not by limiltless outside help, surely. Many sports in the world have much more draconian rules than FFP and in most cases a level playing field leads to more enjoyable matches. Do you really think that only having a few teams who can possibly win the league is good? I yearn for the days when Burnley and Ipswich could do it. If you are happy supporting a rich man's toy then fine - I wouldn't be. How about some proper debate on it?
I'm happy supporting Chelsea football club and have done since 1967 and couldn't give a crap who's in charge and if Abramovich had've bought Spurs you'd be in exactly the same position as me and if you say you wouldn't you'd be lying but because you haven't had the success Chelsea have you're crying like a bitch. That's why I told you to **** off & cry somewhere else. It's the same old **** from jealous morons like you day in day out. You only come here to troll and because of that you deserve what you get. Proper enough for you - Troll?
Ditto. I love Chelsea Roman and JT just like I love Chelsea Ken and Kerry. And I hate 5pur2 too. Not you Power; you are one of the more decent spuds
Isn't the Enic group almost as rich collectively as Roman? Maybe they won't invest on his level because they have no ambition? Maybe its something you Spuds should ask of them.
