25? I'm living on borrowed time.
13 years past my 'use by' date.
seriously though, 25 is way too young.

terrible freakish episode. just read the details of the injury - the ball hit his neck, causing a splitting of the main artery and allowing blood into the brain. all efforts made to deal with it.

rip phil hughes. hope sean abbott can find a way forward.

Tragic, Horrid but simply a freak accident. R.I.P. Phil Hughes

    B U T

Spare a thought also for the bowler Sean Abbott who must get the help he will surely need.

The lesson for all batsman has to be dont turn away from a bouncer.

Now news that footballer Pele is seriously ill with a kidney infection. Not a good day at all for sport.

Phil Hughes epitomized the fun of sport, cricket in particular; I was profoundly shocked when I woke to this news, it simply was not expected. Life can be so very cruel. RIP

It can only be hoped that Sean Abbott can find solace in the belief his mate was exactly that and a good one, too. Sleepless nights, methinks.

    Heart breaking news.

After seeing it and didn't think it would it end well.

It's seriously unlucky to be hit in the neck and severe a artery.

    RIP Phillip Hughes.

Listening to the medical people in St.Vincent Hospital in Sydney,, Hughes has been very unlucky to get hit in the area that caused all the damage. Tragic but a freak injury.

Rest In Peace Phil Hughes, far too young at 25. Died doing what you loved.

I hope your death isn't in vain, some positive action would be improved helmets and to make it compulsory for batsmen to wear them.
