The Vagabonds frontman Jimmy James, who performed alongside Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones, has died aged 84.

Soul legend James was behind the hit ballad Come to Me Softly before being recruited by ska and soul band The Vagabonds.

The group had two hits in the UK in the 70s, I’ll Go Where Your Music Takes Me and Now Is the Time, and regularly headlined soul and 60s festivals.

His family confirmed his death in the Jamaica Observer. They said he died after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and a heart condition at Northwick Park Hospital in London.

Saw him a number of times. One of the best live acts going. No one was sat down after a few minutes of Jimmy doing his stuff.

The British Olympic swimming champion, David Wilkie, has died at the age of 70.

His family announced that the Scottish great Wilkie, who won 200m breaststroke gold for Great Britain in Montreal in 1976, died peacefully on Wednesday morning after suffering from cancer.

Wilkie’s family said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that the family of David Wilkie MBE announce that he died peacefully surrounded by his family this morning, following his brave battle with cancer.”

As well as the 1976 gold medal, Wilkie won two Olympic silver medals and three world titles. Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1954 to Scottish parents, Wilkie won his first major medal with a bronze at the 1970 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, representing Scotland.

Charlie Colin, a founding member of the American pop rock band Train, has died at age 58.

His mother confirmed the tragic news saying the Drops of Jupiter star 'slipped and fell in the shower' according to TMZ.

The incident is said to have taken place while Colin - a former bassist for the band - was house-sitting for a friend in Belgium. It is currently unclear exactly when he passed away.

His mother said Charlie was not found until his friends came back from their trip approximately five days ago.

Colin was reportedly forced to leave the successful group in 2003 due to substance abuse issues.

And before that Bridges

Blue Bell in town had been his more recent perch, when he wasn't on his travels of course.

Parker Vasquez. Died from injuries suffered in a car accident. Donating his organs could save up to 80 other children.
