“Johnson out” banners doesn’t count then?
Perhaps that only existed in my mind.. I’m sure RR reported seeing them if not spraying up a couple himself!!
Oh and the moans by fans after a game on Radio Bristol.. perhaps that only existed in my mind too..

A banner and a couple of people phoning in to radio Bristol? wow

    Get a grip man.

It becomes a real problem when it hits the level of abuse that Osman received booed every time he touched the ball (after substituting Jacki) or the level of abuse Pulis took from day one.

What and LJ didn’t get abuse? First as a player and then as manager.. Perhaps you don’t consider death threats as abuse.. jog on!! Plus it wasn’t just the odd listener, it was relentless..
You really need to get yourself out of that bomb proof cupboard, you’re missing a hell of a lot that’s actually going on!

You are talking out of your arse, but most on here know that.

He had his detractors as I said all players and managers do, by nature football are like that, but it was nowhere close to what you claim.

I as I have proved before I get out far more than you do.

I am not a fan of LJ , it's a fact and I have never denied it, I think he is a third tier manager at best, he has never achieved and his record is dismal but no man should have a death threat hanging over him, no matter what direction it comes from, he did have it and from the bottom of my heart I hate the fact he endured it.

Sorry mate, but Jiffie won’t believe it.. it’s all in our/my mind.. doesn’t suit his argument and probably all to do with the crap players we inherited.. but hey ho he must be right as always!!
Nb. To be honest, I thought he had more than one, but I could be wrong..

He is surely referring to death threats from Rovers fans in that video over the signing of Taylor.

Any death threat is a disgrace and should be dealt with by the full weight of the law (such as it is these days).

But I still maintain that the level of hatred that you are claiming never happened.

Oh, you know that as fact do you, or just a feeling in your water!!
There was lots of hatred towards him......quite often mentioned how his appointment and ongoing reign divided supporters. Mainly because of who he was.
Even in that death threat interview, he mentioned how he was disliked as a player because of who he was, which gave him thicker skin to deal everything thrown at him as manager...
I'd say it was pretty much relentless and only cushioned on the back of a good run...

What I do know is the threat came via twitter and was "i'm gona kil u u stupid ted #FTG", which suggests a gashead, it may have been reported to the police but it was never investigated.

Many years ago during a working day I happened upon a big house somewhere like Longwell Green, the house was surrounded by a huge wall and huge electric gates and had 2 huge Rottweiler's patrolling the grounds, the gates opened and out walked Ian Holloway. We got chatting and he told me that the wall, gates and Rottie's were all designed to be a deterrent from local BCFC fans who had made his family's life a misery, especially his daughters who happened to be deaf and subjected to terrible abuse, but he was determined not to give into them.

Whoever makes these sorts of online threats or racist comments or targets footballers/managers/their families at their homes are cowardly scum, nobody should have to put up with it.

It is nothing new I am reading the 4 volume history of BCFC from the beginning to the mid 2000's, back in the late 1800's a match between Warmley Rovers and Millwall ended with severe crowd violence, there are reports of abuse throughout the very first volume up to the first world war and strangely the racist abuse suffered by Walter Tull playing for Tottenham at Ashton Gate in 1909 is sadly overlooked, not a mention. And here we are over 100 years later and same problems persist and it's still a hot topic.

I wouldn't mind betting that LJ suffered similar abuse after leaving Oldham to better himself at Barnsley and after leaving Barnsley to better himself with us and is almost certainly suffering similar abuse at Sunderland right now. It's not right and it never will be but every club has it's idiots and always will do, every single manager and player in world football will have their haters even amongst their own fanbase, sadly that's the world we live in.

I don't have feelings in my water, I leave that to you, you have perfected the art.

Again, none of that is fact, regarding LJ.
it’s not fact that it was a gas head and could just as well been a disgruntled or anti LJ fan from BCFC. but nice bit of history and research with the rest..
I think most on here would agree that he had a lot more than his fair share of abuse, as player and as a manager..mainly undeserved.

It could have been anybody of course, but incredibly very highly unlikely, BCFC fans were overjoyed at screwing over the gas for their star striker for less a third of his market value.

Formidable in the league that Cotts managed us in, couldn’t cut it in the championship.. showed to me the difference in quality between the two leagues..
I think it was only for about 300k if I remember (might be wrong) so was worth a punt, who ever it was down to imo.. shame as could fault his effort..
